Marlins Erase Mets

The Miami Marlins pushed by the New York Mets 4-2 at Citi Field on Tuesday night. The Fish began a six-game road swing. The Mets made a long trip after playing Sunday in London, England against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Miami(23-43) scored first in the top of the second. Tim Anderson knocked in Jesus Sanchez on a base hit into left field.
New York(28-37) answered back with two runs in the bottom of the second to take a 2-1 lead. Mark Vientos doubled down the left-field line to score J.D. Martinez and former Marlin Starling Marte.
The Marlins reclaimed the lead 3-2 during the fifth inning. Bryan De La Cruz hit a double to left-center field and Anderson scored. Two batters later, Jake Burger reached first on a throwing error and Jazz Chisholm Jr. crossed the plate.
The Fish added an insurance run in the top of the ninth for a 4-2 advantage. Nick Gordon drove in Otto Lopez with a sacrifice fly to left field.
