Marlins Outlast Cardinals

The Miami Marlins beat the St. Louis Cardinals 4-3 on Wednesday at loanDepot park. The first two games of the three-game series went into extra innings. The Fish have the most walk-off wins in the majors this year with seven.
The Marlins decided on a different starting pitcher today. Yonny Chirinos made his first appearance with the club.
In the first inning, Miami(25-49) moved in front 1-0. Bryan De La Cruz socked a solo home run on the first pitch to left-center field for his 13th home run of the season. Jesus Sanchez followed with a solo homer over the center-field wall for his sixth home run of the campaign.
St. Louis(36-37) answered back with two runs in the top of the second. Norlan Gorman powered a solo shot to center field on a 3-2 count for his 16th homer of the year. Two batters later, Brendan Donovan knocked in Nolan Arenado on a base hit into right field.
The Marlins broke the tie and made it 3-2 during the sixth inning. Dane Myers hit a sacrifice fly to right field and Sanchez crossed the plate.
The Redbirds tied it 3-3 in the top of the seventh. Masyn Winn was able to reach home on a fielding error by Jake Burger.
The Fish picked up the walk-off victory in the bottom of the ninth. Otto Lopez singled into right field and Tim Anderson scored.
