Panthers Sweep Doubleheader From Predators

The Florida Panthers swept a doubleheader against the Nashville Predators at Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise on Sunday. The Panthers won the first contest 3-2 and were victorious in the second game 6-2.
It was the third time in the past four seasons that Florida ended up winning both games of the doubleheader. The Panthers accomplished the same feat during the preseason in 2021 and 2023.
The Cats compiled three goals during the second period of the opening game for a 3-0 lead. Sam Bennett scored the first goal on assists from Matthew Tkachuk and Mikulas Hovorka.
In the second contest, the Panthers put in four unanswered goals in the first 16:15 of the first period and led 4-0. Sam Reinhart scored a power-play goal at the 4:34 mark on assists from Aleksander Barkov and Carter Verhaeghe on the play. Other Florida goals in the first came from Joah Davies, Jesper Boqvist and Gustav Forsling. Jake Lucchini got the lone tally for the Predators in the opening frame. Patrick Giles of the Cats had the only goal during the second period.
Adam Boqvist made it 6-1 for the Panthers midway through the final period. Steven Stamkos helped his new club Nashville with a power-play goal with 3:57 remaining in the third with assists from Luke Evangelista and Ryan O'Reilly.
