Skip Schumaker Gone From Marlins

Skip Schumaker is no longer the manager of the Miami Marlins. He managed his final game with the club on Friday. Schumaker finished with a 146-178 record during his two seasons in Miami.
He and Marlins management agreed to eliminate the team option with him for the 2025 season. The team will begin their search for a new manager.
Schumaker was hired by Marlins general manager Kim Ng back in October 2022. Miami finished with the second wild-card spot in the National League last year in Schumaker's first season with the club at the helm. The Fish were swept in the best-of-three series by the Philadelphia Phillies in the National League Wild-Card Series.
Ng mutually departed from the team in October 2023 when the club said it would name a supervisor over her in team operations. Schumaker was disappointed when Ng left the organization. There was a strained relationship between him and the club throughout the entire 2024 season.
