Dolphins Fire Chris Grier

      The Miami Dolphins have parted ways with general manager Chris Grier. The Dolphins currently have a 2-7 record this season. 
      Grier was elevated to the general manager role in 2016. He waited until December 2021 to get complete power in football operations. Grier hired Mike McDaniel as head coach in 2022.

Glades Central Takes Pahokee & Muck Bowl

      The Glades Central Raiders beat the Pahokee Blue Devils 14-0 in the 2025 Muck Bowl at Anquan Boldin Stadium in Pahokee on Friday night. The Raiders lead the all-time series against the Blue Devils 23-10.
      Pahokee(7-3) has been victorious in three of the last five Muck Bowls since 2021 and six of the last 10 contests in the rivalry. Glades Central(9-1) have now won two straight games and 12 of the past 18 Muck Bowls since 2008. 
      The Raiders took a 7-0 lead with under one minute left in the opening quarter. Running back Amed Stidford received a one-yard touchdown in the back of the end zone on fourth down from quarterback Taj Barnes. It was Stedford's first touchdown reception of the season.
      In the second quarter, the Raiders made it 14-0 with 3:28 to go. Barnes connected a nine-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Aljanon Crawford. 
      Neither team was able to score during the third quarter. There was no scoring in the fourth quarter.

St. Thomas Aquinas Tops Chaminade-Madonna

      The St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders got by the Chaminade-Madonna Lions 27-21 at Simmons Family Field in Fort Lauderdale on Friday night. Both teams will defend their FHSAA state championships during the postseason in two weeks. 
      The Raiders are the reigning FHSAA Class 5A state champions. They have won six consecutive state titles and a state-record 16 high school football state championships. 
      The Lions are the defending FHSAA Class 1A state champions. They have captured seven state titles in the last eight years. 
      It was a low-scoring contest in the first two quarters. Both teams were tied 7-7 at halftime. Chaminade-Madonna(7-2) took a 14 -7 lead early in the second half and the Lions were ahead 21-14 at the end of the third quarter. 
      St. Thomas Aquinas(9-1) came back with 13 points in the fourth quarter. STA compiled a field goal followed by a touchdown in their first two possessions of the frame. The Raiders extended it to 27-21 with 2:46 left in the fourth on a 28-yard field goal.

Dillard Hammers Deerfield Beach

       The Dillard Panthers went on the road and pounded the Deerfield Beach Bucks 56-0 at Butler Stadium. The Panthers will play in the FHSAA Playoffs two weeks from now.
       Dillard(10-0) had a 14-0 lead in the first quarter. Deerfield Beach(1-9) found themselves down 42-0 at halftime. 

West Boca Raton Stops Atlantic

      The West Boca Raton Bulls topped the Atlantic Eagles 31-14 at Atlantic Stadium in Delray Beach on Thursday night. It was a battle between the two best teams in southern Palm Beach County. 
      West Boca Raton(8-2) scooted out to a 12-0 advantage in the first quarter. Atlantic(9-1) cut the deficit in the second quarter and trailed 18 -14 at halftime. The Bulls scored one touchdown during the third quarter and one touchdown in the final quarter.

Ravens Fly Over Dolphins

      The Baltimore Ravens knocked off the Miami Dolphins 28-6 at Hard Rock Stadium on Thursday night. Former Boynton Beach Tigers and current Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson made his return to South Florida. 
      Miami(2-7) got out to a 3-0 lead at 12:11 of the opening quarter. Riley Patterson kicked a 49-yard field goal. 
       Baltimore(3-5) leaped by to a 7-3 lead with 8:25 left in the first quarter. Jackson threw a two-yard touchdown pass to Mark Andrews on the right side of the end zone. 
       In the second quarter, the Ravens made it 14-3 at the 14:10 mark. Andrews caught a 20-yard touchdown pass from Jackson on the left side. The Dolphins added a 43-yard field goal by Patterson with 8:01 to go in the second and trailed 14-6 at halftime. 
      The third quarter belonged to Baltimore. Jackson sent a swing pass to Charlie Kolar on the left side for a third-yard touchdown toss at 8:09 and a 21-6 advantage. It became 28-6 for the Ravens with 4:15 remaining in the third when Jackson connected a nine-yard touchdown pass to Rashod Bateman in the middle of the end zone.

Spurs Waltz By Heat

      The San Antonio Spurs walked by the Miami Heat 107-101 on Thursday night at Frost Bank Center. The Heat began a four-game road swing.
      San Antonio(5-0) had a 33-31 edge at the end of the first quarter. They were still ahead 59-58 at the midway point.  
      Miami(3-2) was outscored 28-14 during the third quarter and were behind 87-72. The Heat cut the lead in the fourth quarter, but it was too late. 
      Bam Adebayo was able to guide Miami with a double-double of 31 points and 10 rebounds. Victor Wembanyama led the Spurs with team highs of 27 points, 18 rebounds and seven assists.

Jeff Nelson Gone From YES Network

     Jeff Nelson will not be back as a New York Yankees game analyst for the 2026 season. His contract was not renewed by YES Network.
     Nelson is expected to continue on Miami Marlins broadcasts. He joined the Marlins as a television studio game analyst in 2016. Nelson later added duties as a television game analyst. He began as a Marlins radio game analyst in 2025.

Ducks Survive Panthers

      The Anaheim Ducks defeated the Florida Panthers 3-2 in a shootout at Amerant Bank Arena on Tuesday night. It was the first time that the Ducks head coach Joel Quinneville returned to Sunrise since his coaching stint ended with the Panthers in October 2021. 
      The Panthers participated in overtime and a shootout for the first time in the regular season. All 32 NHL clubs played on the same day for the only time this season. 
      After no scoring during the first frame,  Anaheim(5-3-1) moved ahead 1-0 on a shorthanded goal at 9:57 of the second period. Leo Carlsson made a drop pass at the top of the zone. Troy Terry then angled a pass from the top left circle. Carlsson snapped a shot from the inner right circle past Daniil Tarasov for his fourth goal of the season.
      The Ducks made it 2-0 on a 5-on-3 power-play goal with 7:33 remaining in the second. Carlsson zipped a cross-ice pass from above the right circle. LaCombe sent a diagonal pass from the top left circle and Cutter Gauthier took a one-time slap shot from the low right circle for his sixth tally of the campaign.
      Florida(5-5-1) cut it to 2-1 with 8:48 left in the third period. Eetu Luostatinen backhanded a pass from the left corner and Mackie Samoskevich made a backhand pass from the left goal line. Anton Lundell placed a wrist shot from the right of the crease by Lukas Dostal for his third goal of the season. 
      The Panthers pulled their goalie for an extra attacker with 3:14 to go in the period. They tied it up 2-2 with 3:06 left in the third. Lundell won a faceoff in the left circle. Carter Verhaeghe fed a pass from the top of the zone. Seth Jones released a shot from the right point and Sam Reinhart redirected it in from the top of the crease for his fifth goal in 2025-26.
      In the shootout, neither team converted in the first round. Terry lost the puck on a deke and it slipped into the cage on the Ducks second attempt. Lundell matched for the Cats with a wrist shot. Anaheim picked up the win as Mason McTavish put in a forehand shot.

Heat Slams Hornets

      The Miami Heat dominated the Charlotte Hornets 144-117 on Tuesday night at Kaseya Center. The Heat, who have won three straight games, will next head out on a four-game road trip. 
       It tied for the fourth-most points by the team in franchise history. They scored the third-most points ever at the Memphis Grizzlies this past Friday.
      Miami(3-1) rambled out to a 37-34 advantage after one quarter. The Heat increased it to 76-60 by halftime.
      Charlotte(2-2) was in the game and trailed 105-88 at the end of the third quarter. Miami pulled away during the final quarter.
       Jaime Jaquez Jr. finished with 28 points to lead the Heat. Bam Adebayo composed 26 points and six rebounds. Pelle Larsson ended up with a career-high 17 points. LaMelo Ball pumped in 20 points for the Hornets.

Kendall Hyde WPTV-TV Sports

       WPTV-TV Channel 5 in West Palm Beach increased their sports department with more o -air personnel recently. They added Kendall Hyde to their sports staff several months ago. He joined their news department back in January 2024.
       Hyde works alongside sportscaster John Barron and evening news co-anchor/Friday night high school football sports anchor Todd Wilson. WPTV made an adjustment in their sports department when they severed their partnership with Good Karma Brands and ESPN West Palm 106.3 last year.

Heat Win Home Opener Versus Knicks

       The Miami Heat won their home opener over the New York Knicks 115-107 at Kaseya Center on Sunday night. It was the 38th home opener in Heat franchise history.
       New York(2-1) had a 27-24 lead at the conclusion of the first quarter. Miami(2-1) would have a 57-54 lead at halftime. The Heat held an 88-81 advantage at the end of the third quarter and continued to lead during the final quarter.
       Norman Powell had 29 points and seven rebounds for the Heat. Bam Adebayo compiled a double-double of 19 points along with 13 rebounds. Jalen Brunson led the Knicks with game highs of 37 points and seven assists.

Dolphins Swim By Falcons

      The Miami Dolphins piled on the Atlanta Falcons 34-10 at Mercedez-Benz Stadium on Sunday. The Fins snapped a three-game losing streak.
      Miami(2-6) scored a touchdown in the first quarter for a 7-0 lead. Atlanta(3-4) closed it to 7-3 early in the second quarter on a field goal. The Dolphins responded with 10 more points later in the second for a 17-3 halftime lead.
      The Fins added a touchdown in the third quarter for a 21-point margin. The Falcons gave up 10 more points during the fourth quarter and they were down 34-3.

Panthers Beat Golden Knights

      The Florida Panthers dropped the Vegas Golden Knights 3-0 at Amerant Bank Arena on Saturday night. Panthers goalie Sergei Bobrovsky collected his 50th career shutout.
      It was a rematch of the 2023 Stanley Cup Final. The Panthers have lost five of their last seven games. It was the first regulation loss for Vegas(5-1-2) this season.
      In the first period, Florida(5-5-0) pulled ahead 1-0 with 2:41 left. Evan Rodrigues pushed the puck ahead from his own blue line. Carter Verhaeghe sent a lead pass from the neutral zone. Sam Reinhart skated through the left circle and scored his fourth goal of the season on a wrist shot from the top of the crease.
      There was no scoring during the second period for the Golden Knights or Florida. The Panthers increased their lead to 2-0 at 3:29 of he third period. A.J. Greer and Jonah Gadjovich took shots from close range that were saved. Cole Schwindt placed in a forehand shot from the left side of the crease for his first tally of the year.
      It became 3-0 for the Cats with 10:56 remaining in the third. Brad Marchand released a shot from the left wing which was stopped. Greer got to the rebound, went around the cage and scored on a wraparound shot from the right of the crease for his third goal of the campaign.

Hurricanes Speed By Stanford

      The University of Miami Hurricanes powered by the Stanford University Cardinal 42-7 on Saturday night at Hard Rock Stadium.
      Stanford(3-5, 2-3) scored the first touchdown in the opening quarter for a 7-0 lead. Miami(6-1, 2-1) responded with 42 unanswered points for the remainder of the contest. 
      The Canes got a touchdown in the second quarter to tie it up 7-7 before halftime. Miami had 21 points during the third quarter and 14 points in the fourth quarter.

Inter Miami CF Tops Nashville SC In Game 1

      Inter Miami Cf beat Nashville SC 3-1 in Game 1 of the first round of the MLS Cup Playoffs at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale on Friday night. The Herons lead the best-of-three series 1-0. Game 2 will be played next Saturday in Nashville. 
      Inter Miami FC leaped to a 1-0 lead in the 19th minute. Lionel Messi scored the only goal during the first half to put them in front.
      In the second half, Tadeo Allende increased it to 2-0 for the Herons in the 62nd minute. Nashville SC cut it to 2-1 in stoppage time with a tally from Hany Mukhtar. 
      The Herons answered back later in stoppage time as Messi found the net again for his second goal of the contest and his fifth goal in the past two games. He has scored 12 career goals against Nashville SC.

Heat Destroys Grizzlies

      The Miami Heat dominated the Memphis Grizzlies 146-114 on Friday night at FedEx Forum. It was the first contest that the Heat have played since the gambling allegations and arrest of guard Terry Rozier. 
      Miami(1-1) blasted out to a 44-27 lead at the end of one quarter. The Heat piled on the points during the second quarter and held a 39-point lead 86-47 at halftime.
      Memphis(1-1) closes it to 114-76 at the conclusion of the third quarter. It certainly seemed that the game was decided heading into the final quarter.
       Bam Adebayo led the Heat with a game-high 24 points. Nikola Jovic collected 18 points while Kel'el Ware finished short of a double-double with 19 points and nine rebounds. Jaren Jackson Jr. Had a team-high 19 points for the Grizzlies.

St. Thomas Aquinas Gets By American Heritage

      The St Thomas Aquinas Raiders edged the American Heritage Patriots 19-12 at Bill Laurie Stadium in Plantation on Friday night. It was a clash between two FHSAA reigning state champions from Broward County. 
      STA scored the first 16 points of the game for a 16-0 lead by the middle of the second quarter. The Patriots broke the shutout later in the quarter and trailed 16-6 at halftime. Both teams combined for nine points during the second half.
      St. Thomas Aquinas(8-1), the defending FHSAA Class 5A state champs, will challenge the FHSAA Class 1A state champions the Chaminade-Madonna Lions in Hollywood next week. American Heritage(4-5), the reigning FHSAA Class 4A state champions, finished their 2025 regular season.

Chaminade-Madonna Blanks Cardinal Gibbons

      The Chaminade-Madonna Lions shut out the Cardinal Gibbons Chiefs 47-0 at Dr. Bud Tight Field in Fort Lauderdale on Friday night. It was a contest between two of the top private high school football programs in Broward County. 
      The Lions dominated in the first half and held a 26-0 lead at halftime. The Chiefs surrendered 21 more points in the second half. 
      Chaminade-Madonna(7-1), the defending FHSAA Class 1A state champions, will host the reigning FHSAA Class 5A state champions the St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders next week. Cardinal Gibbons(6-3) will be home against the Miramar Patriots in a week.

Dillard Takes District & Boynton Beach

      The Dillard Panthers knocked off the Boynton Beaxh Tigers 41-13 in a District 14-4A matchup at Otis Gray Jr. Memorial Stadium in Fort Lauderdale on Friday night. The Panthers captured the district title with the victory. 
      The Panthers scored two touchdowns during the first quarter for a 14-0 lead and never looked back. The Tigers could not make it a closer contest until after they were down 41-0. 
      Dillard(9-0, 4-0) will conclude their regular season next week at the Deerfield Beach Bucks. Boynton Beach(5-4, 2-2) visits the Lake Worth Trojans in a week.

West Boca Raton Beats Palm Beach Gardens, Wins District

      The West Boca Bulls surged by the Palm Beach Gardens Gators 42-0 on Friday night in Boca Raton. The contest was for the District 12-6A title. 
     The Bulls get out to a 7-0 advantage in the first quarter. West Boca Raton was able to hold a 21-0 lead at halftime. 
     West Boca Raton(7-2, 4-0) visits the Atlantic Eagles in a week. Palm Beach Gardens(3-6, 2-2) makes a long trip to the Melbourne Bulldogs next week.

Glades Central Edges The King's Academy

      The Glades Central Raiders overcame The King's Academy Lions 22-19 at Kahlert Stadium on Friday night. It was a battle in Palm Beach County.
      The Lions scored first and were up 12 -0 at halftime. They were in front 19-7 at the end of three quarters. The Raiders pulled a comeback in the fourth quarter with 15 points to take a 22-19 lead
      Glades Central(8-1) will visit the Pahokee Blue Devils for the annual Muck Bowl next week. The King's Academy(5-4) travels next week to the Archbishop McCarthy Mavericks.

Lionel Messi Signs Extension

     Inter Miami CF has signed Lionel Messi to a three-year extension through the 2028 Major League Soccer season. Messi joined the Herons in July 2023 and his original contract would last until December 2025. 
     Messi has won the Ballon d'Or Trophy eight times during his career as the best soccer player in the world. He led Argentina to a World Cup title in 2022. 
     He guided Inter Miami CF to the Leagues Cup title in 2023 and the MLS Supporters' Sheild in 2024. Messi received the Golden Boot leading Major League Soccer with 29 goals during the 2025 regular season.

Terry Rozier Arrested

     Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier has been arrested by the FBI. It is associated with allegations of gambling. The Miami Heat have placed Rozier on immediate leave. He joined the Heat in January 2024.

Penguins Outscore Panthers

     The Florida Panthers returned home and were held off by the Pittsburgh Penguins 5-3 at Amerant Bank Arena on Thursday night. The Panthers lost at home for the first time this season. The Cats were coming off a five-game road trip. 
      Pittsburgh(6-2-0) took a 1-0 lead on the power play at the 6:24 mark of the first period. Sidney Crosby collected his fifth goal of the season on a snap shot from the left-circle dot past Sergei Bobrovsky
      In the second period, the Penguins increased it to a 2-0 lead at 6:36. Rickard Rakell got his third tally of the campaign on a backhand shot.
      Florida(4-5-0) closed it to 2-1 with the man advantage at the 8:26 mark. Mackie Samoskevich connected a diagonal pass from the left circle and Brad Marchand tapped in a shot from the right side of the crease by Tristan Jarry for his fourth goal of the season.

Booker T. Washington Falls To Ransom Everglades

      The Booker T. Washington Tornadoes were blanked by the Ransom Everglades Raiders at 35-0 at Traz Powell Stadium on Thursday night. It was a District 15-2A contest in Miami.
      Booker T. Washington(2-8, 1-2) completed their 2025 regular season schedule. Ransom Everglades(5-4, 2-1) will host the Somerset Academy Key Lions next week.

Jupiter Takes Palm Beach Lakes & District

    The Jupiter Warriors downed the Palm Beach Lakes Rams 34-12 on Thursday night in West Palm Beach. It was for the District 12-7A title. 
    The Warriors held a 7-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. They extended the contest to 20-0 by halftime. 
     Jupiter(9-0, 3-0) will host the South Fork Bulldogs in a week. Palm Beach Lakes (5-4, 1-2) will visit the Suncoast Chargers next week.

Pahokee Pounds Legacy

      The Pahokee Blue Devils walloped the Legacy Lions 47-0 in Port St. Lucie on Thursday night. It is the first season of high school football for Legacy(3-6). 
      The Blue Devils got out to a 7-0 lead in the first quarter. They added 27 more points during the second quarter for a 34-0 halftime lead.
       Pahokee(7-2) will host the Muck Bowl next week against their local rival the Glades Central Raiders. The Lions will stay at home in a week against the Okeechobee Brahmans.

Forest Hill Towers Suncoast

      The Forest Hill Falcons handled the Suncoast Chargers 27-6 on Thursday night. It was a Palm Beach County battle.
      The Falcons flew out to a 13-0 advantage in the first quarter. They added another touchdown during the second quarter and led 20-0 at halftime.
      Forest Hill(3-6) will be at home for a district game versus the Park Vista Cobras next week. Suncoast(2-7) will finish their 2025 season hosting the Palm Beach Lakes Rams in a week.

Westwood One Sports On WQAM

      There will soon be a new rebranded national sports radio network. Infinity Sports Network will become Westwood One Sports. CBS Sports Radio Network changed its name to Infinity Sports Network in April 2024. It started as CBS Sports Radio Network in January 2013. 
      There are two South Florida radio stations that will carry the syndicated Westwood One Sports. 104.3 Sports WQAM-FM and 560 Sports WQAM-AM will air the network on weekday late nights, weekday overnights and weekends.

Heat Lose To Magic In Season Opener

     The Miami Heat fell to the Orlando Magic 125-121 at Kia Center on Wednesday night. The Heat started their 38th season in the NBA. The Heat are now 19-19 in season-opening games.
     Miami(0-1) had a slight 39-38 lead at the end of the first quarter. Orlando(1-0) pulled ahead 69-65 by halftime.
     The Heat were up 91-90 at the conclusion of the third quarter. The Magic outscored Miami 10-4 in the final 2:25 of the fourth quarter to get the victory.
      Norman Powell made his Heat debut and chalked up 28 points along with nine rebounds. Andrew Wiggins poured in 18 points. Davion Mitchell added 16 points and 12 assists for a double-double.
      Franz Wagner and Paolo Banchero both had 24 points each for Orlando. Desmond Bane was able to get 23 points.

Miami Heat 2025-26 Announcers

      The Miami Heat will begin their 38th season in the NBA on Wednesday night. There will be no changes in the team's announcing crew from last season. 
      Television play-by-play announcer Eric Reid returns for his 38th season broadcasting Heat games alongside game analyst John Crotty. Will Manso comes back as the studio host and home sideline reporter. Ron Rothstein holds the role of studio analyst on home games. Jeremy Tache and Kelly Saco will be used as backup sideline reporters. 
       Jason Jackson will work as the television studio host for home contests and radio play-by-play announcer for all Miami games. Amy Audbert will split duties as the home radio game analyst and road television studio analyst.

Inter Miami CF Playoff Slate Set

     The 2025 MLS Cup Playoffs is now set. Inter Miami CF will face Nashville SC in the best-of-three first round. Both teams played each other this past Saturday in the regular season finale.
      Inter Miami CF will host Game 1 in Fort Lauderdale on Friday night. The Herons will visit Nashville on November 1 for Game 2. Inter Miami CF will be home for Game 3 if necessary on November 8.  
      The Herons had a nightmare last year in the first round. Inter Miami CF was the top seed in Major League Soccer with the MLS Supporters' Sheild for the best regular season record ever. They were shocked and lost a three-game series against Atlanta United FC 2-1.

Brad Marchand & Panthers Snap Bruins

     Florida Panthers center Brad Marchand returned to Boston for the first time as the Panthers topped the Boston Bruins 4-3 at TD Garden on Tuesday night. Marchand was honored with a video scoreboard montage from the Bruins organization during the first television commercial break in the first period.   
     He was with the Bruins for 16 seasons from 2009-10 to 2024-25. Marchand compiled 422 goals and 554 assists for 976 points while with the B's.
     The Panthers finished a five-game road trip as they snapped a four-game losing streak. The Cats had their first two-day break in the regular season prior to this contest. The Bruins extended their losing streak to five games.
      Florida(4-4-0) rocketed out to a 1-0 lead with a power-play goal at the 1:01 mark. Anton Lundell took a shot from the right circle that hit the left post. Marchand poked the puck across in the blue paint and Mackie Samoskevich swept the puck into the cage for his second tally of the year.
      It was the third quickest power-play goal to begin a game for the Florida Panthers in franchise history. The Cats scored with the man advantage for the first time in four contests. They had gone 0-for-15 on the power play in their previous three games.
      In the second period, the Panthers made it 2-0 at 2:01. Jonah Gadjovich touched a loose puck following a right-circle faceoff. A.J. Greer snapped a shot from the low right circle by Jeremy Swayman for his second goal of the 2025-26 campaign.
      Boston(3-5-0) cut it to 2-1 at the 2:46 mark of the third period. The Panthers turned the puck over behind their own net. Viktor Arvidsson backhanded a pass from the left goal line. Casey Middlestadt angled a pass from the low slot and Pavel Zacha tapped in a shot from the right side of the crease past Sergei Bobrovsky for his second goal this season.
      The B's tied it up 2-2 at 4:46 of the third on a power-play goal. Zacha dropped a pass at the top of the zone. David Pastrnak fired a forehand shot from the right point that was redirected by Elias Lindholm in the slot area for his third tally of the season.
      Florida reclaimed the lead 3-2 at 9:58. Aaron Ekblad cleared the puck out of his zone and Marchand sent a backhand lead pass from the neutral zone. Eetu Luostatinen carried it up the middle and released a snap shot from the low slot for his first goal.
      The Bruins pulled their goalie for an extra attacker and tied it up 3-3 with 1:31 remaining in the third. Pastrnak blasted a slap shot from the left point which was stopped. Middlestadt pushed a pass from the left of the crease and Morgan Geekie collected his third goal of the season on a wrist shot from the top of the crease.
     The Cats moved ahead 4-3 with 26.5 seconds left in the period as Carter Verhaeghe chalked up his second goal of the campaign in a weird situation. His forehand shot from the inner left circle hit the right post. It bounced off the left foot of Andrew Peake in the low right circle and into the Boston net.

      Ben Harpur is leaving North America and heading to the Kontinental Hockey League. He is signing with the Shanghai Dragons. 
      Harpur signed a professional tryout offer with the Florida Panthers in September. He was released by the team prior to the start of the regular season in early October.

High School Football Radio Broadcasts

       There is just one radio station in the South Florida tri-county region that is broadcasting high school football games this year. It is ESPN West Palm 106.3 WESP-FM in West Palm Beach.  
       Good Karma Brands and their West Palm Beach cluster have broadcast high school football regular season games weekly since 2010. The South Florida region once had five different radio stations that aired high school football contests in 2011. 
        ESPN West Palm has Christian Katt as their play-by-play announcer for the second straight season. Jimmie Bell is the game analyst for the 12th consecutive season. Colin Russo is back for his second year as the studio host.

Browns Run By Dolphins

        The Cleveland Browns topped the Miami Dolphins 31-6 at Huntington Bank Field on Sunday. The Dolphins are now four games behind the New England Patriots for first place in the AFC East Division.
        Cleveland(2-5) picked up a 3-0 lead on a 30-field goal by Andre Szmyt with 2:17 to go in the first quarter.
        In the second quarter, Miami(1-6) tied it up 3-3 at 14:14 when Riley Patterson booted a 35-yard field goal. The Browns responded quickly on a Quinshon Judkins 46-yard run at 11:19 of the second for a 10-3 lead. 
        It became 17-3 for Cleveland with 6:03 left in the quarter. Jenkins raced up the middle from three yards away. The Fins cut it to 17-6 on a Patterson 26-yard field goal with no time remaining in the first half. 
        The Browns extended their lead to 24-6 on the first play of the third quarter. Tyson Campbell intercepted a Tua Tagovailoa pass and returned it 34 yards for a touchdown just 15 seconds into the second half. 
       Tagovailoa threw another interception early in the final quarter. Jenkins rushed in from two yards out for his third touchdown of the game at the 10:56 mark for a 31-6 lead.

Miami Central Topples Miami Southridge

      The Miami Central Rockets outdueled the Miami Southridge Spartans 34-28 on Saturday night at Traz Powell Stadium. It was one of two high school football games played in Dade County and South Florida tonight. 
      Miami Southridge(8-1) got up 7-0 in the first quarter and expanded it to 20-0 early in the second. Miami Central(6-1) got on the scoreboard with two touchdowns in the second quarter and were down 20-13 at halftime. 
      The Rockets added two more touchdowns during the third quarter to take a 27-20 lead. The Spartans regained the lead 28-27 just one minute into the fourth quarter. Miami Central answered back and moved ahead 34-28.

Inter Miami CF Outlasts Nashville SC

     Lionel Messi got a hat trick as Inter Miami CF outscored Nashville SC 5-2 on Saturday night at GEODIS Park. Messi finished with a MLS-leading 29 goals to clinch the Golden Boot Award. It was the regular season finale for both teams in 2025. The Herons ended up in third place in the Eastern Conference standings. 
     Inter Miami CF(19-7-8) raced out to a 1-0 lead in the 35th minute. Messi scored his first goal in contest. 
     Nashville SC(16-12-6) evened it up 1-1 in the 43rd minute. Sam Surridge was able to get the tally.  Jacob Shaffelburg gave them a 2-1 advantage during stoppage time in the first half.   
     The Herons bounced back in the second half and retook the lead 3-2. Messi converted on a penalty kick in the 63rd minute and Baltasar Rodriguez gave them the lead in the 67th minute.  
     Messi collected his third goal of the game during the 81st minute of play to make it 4-2. Telasco Segovia added another goal in stoppage time for a three-goal lead.

Sabres Stab Panthers

     The Buffalo Sabres beat the Florida Panthers 3-0 at KeyBank Center on Saturday. The Panthers extended their losing streak to four games.  
     Florida(3-4-0) finishes their long five-game road swing at Boston against the Bruins on Tuesday night. It will be the first time that Brad Marchand faces his former team. 
     Buffalo(2-3-0) climbed to a 1-0 lead on the man advantage at the 7:13 mark of the first period. Rasmus Dahlin sent a diagonal pass from the left point. Tage Thompson took a shot from the right wing and it was redirected in by Josh Doan from the top of the crease past Sergei Bobrovsky for his first tally in a Sabres uniform.   
     The Sabres expanded it to 2-0 on another power-play goal with 8:48 remaining in the second period. Zach Benson passed from the end wall. Jason Zucker zipped a diagonal pass from the right-circle dot and Doan tipped it in from the blue paint for his second goal of the contest. 
      It became 3-0 for Buffalo with 5:40 to go in the second. Peyton Krebs pushed the puck ahead on the right side. Alex Tuch connected a cross-ice pass from the right circle and Owen Power put in a forehand shot from the left side of the crease for his first goal of the campaign.

King's Academy Over Benjamin

     The King's Academy Lions squeezed by the Benjamin Buccaneers 13-12 in Palm Beach Gardens on Friday night. It was a Palm Beach County game.
     Benjamin(3-5) had the only touchdown in the first half and scooted out to a 6-0 halftime lead. The King's Academy(5-3) took a 7-6 in the third quarter and were up 13-12 in the final quarter.

Archbishop McCarthy Upsets American Heritage

      The Archbishop McCarthy Mavericks shocked the American Heritage Stallions 13-10 on Friday night. It was a battle between two teams in District 15-4A. 
      Archbishop McCarthy(6-2, 2-1) held a 7-3 advantage at halftime over American Heritage(4-4, 2-1). Both schools scored a touchdown during the third quarter.

Hurricanes Stunned By Louisville

      The University of Miami Hurricanes were upset by the University of Louisville Cardinals 24-21 at Hard Rock Stadium on Friday night. It continued ACC play for both teams.
      The Canes had two byes in the past three weeks. The U captured the state of Florida title with their recent two victories over the Florida Gators and the Florida State Seminoles.
       Louisville(5-1, 2-1) scored the first 14 points of this contest during the first quarter. The Canes came back with 10 points in the second and the Cardinals led 14-10 at halftime. 
      Miami(5-1, 1-1), who were ranked second in the nation, closed it to 17-13 late in the third quarter. The Hurricanes outscored their opponent during the final quarter.

Miami Northwestern Downs Miami Palmetto

      The Miami Northwestern Bulls blanked the Miami Palmetto Panthers 28-0 at Traz Powell Stadium on Friday night. It was a battle between two Dade County high school football powerhouses.
      Neither team scored during the first half. Miami Northwestern(7-1) broke the scoreless tie in the third quarter with three touchdowns for a 21-0 lead. Miami Palmetto(6-2) gave up another touchdown to the Bulls during the fourth quarter and trailed 28-0.

St. Thomas Aquinas Overcomes Monarch

     The St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders headed north and came back on the Monarch Knights 31-20 on Friday night. Both Broward County high schools made the FHSAA Playoffs last year. 
     St. Thomas Aquinas(7-1) was down 7-3 to Monarch(4-4) in the first quarter and 13-10 at halftime. The Raiders overtook the Knights in the fourth quarter with a 24 -20 lead and stretched it to 31-20.

Plantation Crushes Blanche Ely

      The Plantation Colonels demolished the Blanche Ely Tigers 47-0 on Friday at PAL Field in Plantation. It was a Broward County matchup.
      Plantation(5-3) will be home against the Miami Norland Vikings next week. Blanche Ely(3-5) hosts the Coconut Creek Cougars in a week.

Vero Beach Stops Pahokee

      The Vero Beach Indians routed the Pahokee Blue Devils 53-14 at Anquan Boldin Stadium on Friday night. Both teams are state title contenders.
      Vero Beach(8-0) scored on their first drive in the opening quarter for a 7-0 lead. The Indians held a 13-8 advantage over Pahokee(6-2) after one quarter. Vero Beach collected 17 points during the second quarter and led 30-8 at halftime. 
      The Indians extended their lead to 37-8 in the third quarter. The Blue Devils answered back and were down 37-14. Vero Beach scored early in the fourth quarter for a 44-14 lead.

West Boca Raton Edged By Cardinal Newman

      The West Boca Raton Bulls lost to the Cardinal Newman Crusaders 26-20 in overtime at Sam Budnyk Field in West Palm Beach on Friday night. The Bulls are the reigning FHSAA Class 6A state champions
      Cardinal Newman(6-2) led by the score of 7-0 at halftime. The Crusaders had a 20-6 lead in the third quarter.     
      The Bulls responded with a touchdown along with a two-point conversion and they were down 20-14 late in the third. West Boca Raton(6-2) evened it up 20-20 in the fourth quarter. The Crusaders reclaimed the lead 26-20 in overtime.

Jamal Mashburn Joins TNT Sports

     Former Miami Heat player Jamal Mashburn is joining TNT Sports as a college basketball studio analyst. It is the first season of Big East and Big 12 basketball on the network. TNT Sports has shared the NCAA men's basketball tournament with CBS Sports in the last couple of years.       
    Mashburn was with the Heat for four seasons from 1996-97 until 1999-2000. He participated in 180 regular season games while in Miami and helped them capture four Atlantic Division titles.

Billy Gil Exits Dan Le Batard Show

      Billy Gil will be exiting Meadowlark Media on Friday. He has been a producer on the Dan Le Batard Show With Stugotz for the last 15 years. 
      He has been a part of that program when it was based previously on Sports Talk 790 The Ticket WAXY-AM in Miami and ESPN Radio. Gil was also a co-host of Mystery Crate. He will be joining Spotify in a management position.

Devils Burn Panthers

      The Florida Panthers fell to the New Jersey Devils 3-1 at Prudential Center on Thursday night. The Panthers are now on a three-game losing streak. The Cats are in the middle of a five-game road trip. It was the Devils home opener.
      Florida(3-3-0) muscled out to a 1-0 lead at the 1:59 mark of the first period. Seth Jones sent a long lead pass from his own zone. Brad Marchand skated from the right point and shot the puck twice from the slot area. It was saved by Jake Allen, but Evan Rodrigues swept in the rebound from the left side of the crease for his second goal of the 2025-26 campaign. 
      New Jersey(3-1-0) tied it up 1-1 with the man advantage at 5:48 of the second period. Timo Meier connected a cross-ice pass from the right point. Jesper Bratt angled a pass from the top of the zone. Jack Hughes snapped a shot from the low left circle past Daniil Tarasov for his first goal this season.
      In the third period, the Devils took the lead 2-1 at 6:23. Brenden Dillon zipped a pass from the left point. Simon Nemec released a shot from the right point and it was redirected in by Meier from the low right circle for his third tally of the season.
      It became 3-1 for New Jersey with 8:13 to go in the third. Dawson Mercer poked the puck across in the high slot. Nico Hischer followed with a wrist shot from the slot area and scored his second goal in 2025-26.

Atlantic Takes Deerfield Beach & District

      The Atlantic Eagles stuffed the Deerfield Beach Bucks 55-21 at Atlantic Stadium in Delray Beach on Thursday night. The Eagles clinched the District 14-5A title with the victory.
      Atlantic(8-0, 3-0) blasted out to a 41-7 lead by halftime. Deerfield Beach(1-7, 0-3) found themselves down 48-13 in the final quarter.

Cardinal Gibbons Cooks Boca Raton

      The Cardinal Gibbons Chiefs traveled up to Palm Beach County and beat the Boca Raton Bobcats 35-13 on Thursday night in Boca Raton. It was a rare contest on the gridiron between both high schools.
      Cardinal Gibbons(6-2) hurried out to a 21-7 lead in the second quarter. Boca Raton(4-4) surrendered two touchdowns in the second half and trailed 35-7.

Miami Norland Tops Columbus

      The Miami Norland Vikings defeated the Columbus Explorers 30-14 on Thursday night in Dade County. Both teams are trying to reach the postseason.
      Miami Norland(4-5) will visit the Plantation Colonels next week. Columbus(3-6) will conclude their regular season in a week at the True North Academy Titans.

Boynton Beach Busts John I. Leonard

      The Boynton Beach Tigers went on the road and slaughtered the John I. Leonard Lancers 56-0 on Thursday night in Greenacres. It was a not a district game between both teams.   
      Boynton Beach(5-3) was in charge in the first half and had a 35-0 halftime lead. John I. Leonard(0-8) gave up 21 more points during the second half.

Palm Beach Lakes Pushes Lake Worth

      The Lake Worth Trojans hosted the Palm Beach Lakes Rams and lost 20-7 at Bill Harvey Stadium on Thursday night. It was a clash in central Palm Beach County.
      Palm Beach Lakes(5-3) jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the opening quarter. Lake Worth(2-6) picked up a touchdown during the third quarter and closed it to 14-7. The Rams found the end zone again in the fourth quarter to make it 20-7.

Wellington Walks By Olympic Heights

     The Wellington Wolverines drove down State Road 7 on Thursday night and stopped the Olympic Heights Lions 49-15 at Corey Lewis Stadium. The game was played in Boca Raton.
     Olympic Heights(4-4) scooted out to a 8-0 advantage early in the second quarter. Wellington(3-5) answered back and they trailed 8-7. The Lions came back on their next possession to take a 15-7 lead. The Wolverines scored 42 unanswered points later in the contest and led 49 -15.

Red Wings Land On Panthers

     The Detroit Red Wings rolled by the Florida Panthers 3-1 at Little Caesars Arena on Wednesday night. The Red Wings are celebrating their 100th season in the National Hockey League. 
     Neither team scored in the first period. Detroit(3-1-0) moved in front 1-0 at the 2:09 mark of the second. Dylan Larkin stole the puck from Jeff Petry in the low right circle. Mason Appleton snapped a shot from the inner right circle past Sergei Bobrovsky for his second goal this season.
     The Red Wings expanded it to 2-0 on a 5-on-3 power play at 9:36 of the period. Larkin won the faceoff in the left circle. Mo Seider pushed a square pass from above the left circle and Patrick Kane released a wrist shot from the right-circle dot for his 494th career goal.
      Florida(3-2-0) closed the gap to 2-1 with 5:55 left in the second. Anton Lundell drew the left-circle faceoff. Brad Marchand carried puck from the left wing to around the cage. He beat Cam Talbott on a wraparound shot from the right of the crease for his third goal of the season.
      The Panthers pulled their goalie for an extra skater several times. Appleton got his second goal of the game for the Red Wings with 1:58 left into an empty net to make it 3-1. Michael Rasmussen increased it to 4-1 with 17.8 seconds remaining on an empty-net tally.

Erik Spoelstra USA Basketball Head Coach

      Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra has been named the new head coach of the USA Basketball men's team. He will be at the helm for the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.     
      Spoelstra has been the head coach of the Miami for the past 17 seasons. He had led the Heat to two NBA championships in 2012 and 2013 along with six NBA Finals appearances.

Port St. Lucie Gets USL Franchise

     The city of Port St. Lucie was awarded a United Soccer League soccer team. Port St. Lucie will be building a new soccer stadium on US-1 and Walton Road.
     The new USL men's team is expected to begin in 2027. A woman's team can possibly be added after that.

Florida Panthers Extend Jonah Gadjovich

   The Florida Panthers have signed forward Johan Gadjovich to a two-year contract extension. Gadjovich has won two Stanley Cup titles with the organization. 
     He has played 81 games with the Panthers for the past three seasons. The new deal is worth $1.8 million.

Chaminade-Madonna Clobbers Blanche Ely

     The Chaminade-Madonna Lions destroyed the Blanche Ely Tigers 60-0 on Monday night at Vince Zappone Field in Hollywood. The Lions have won six consecutive games. 
     Chaminade-Madonna(6-1) rolled out to a 21-0 advantage over Blanche Ely(3-4) in the first quarter and the Lions held a 51-0 halftime lead. A running clock was implemented for the entire second half. 

Santaluces Spins Park Vista

     The Santaluces Chiefs eased by the Park Vista Cobras 27-7 in Boynton Beach on Monday night. The Chiefs made the four-mile visit down Hypoluxo Road against their District 13-7A foe.
     Santaluces(4-3, 2-0) scored first to make it 7-0 in the opening quarter. Park Vista(2-6, 1-1) found themselves down 13-0 at halftime.

Palm Beach Gardens Hammers Dwyer

     The Palm Beach Gardens Gators went up Military Trail and piled on the Dwyer Panthers 41-0 at Blum Stadium on Monday night in a District 12-6A contest. It continued the longtime town rivalry between both high schools. 
     Palm Beach Gardens(2-5. 1-1), who ended a five-game losing streak, raced out to a 27-0 lead by halftime. Dwyer(0-8, 0-3) was unable to cut into the deficit during the second half. 

Panthers Fold To Flyers

     The Florida Panthers fell to the Philadelphia Flyers 5-2 at Xfinity Mobile Arena Monday night. It was the Panthers first road game in the 2025-26 regular season. Daniil Tarasov made his debut in net for the Panthers. 
      Philadelphia(1-1-1) got up 1-0 at the 8:54 mark of the first period. Sean Couturier backhanded a pass from the left wing. Tyson Forester snapped a shot from the inner right circle for his first tally this season.  
      In the second period, the Flyers increased it to 2-0 with 4:13 remaining. Travis Sanheim tipped away a pass in the middle of his own zone and Travis Konecny sent a long diagonal pass down the ice. Couturier went on a breakaway and released a wrist shot from the slot area for his first goal of the campaign. 
      Florida(3-1-0) closed it to 2-1 with 37.2 seconds to go in the period on a shorthanded goal. Anton Lundell pushed a shot from the top of the crease wide left of the net. Sam Reinhart skated from the end wall and backhanded a wraparound shot from the right goal line past Dan Vladar for his first goal of the season. 
     The Panthers tied it up 2-2 at 10:15 of the third period on a power-play goal. Reinhart fed the puck from behind the Flyers net and Sam Bennett placed in a wrist shot from the low left circle for his first goal in 2025-26. Brad Marchand was credited with the secondary assist on the sequence. 
     Philadelphia regained the lead 3-2 with 4:10 left in the third. Trevor Zegras backhanded a pass from behind the Florida cage and Couturier blasted a one-time slap shot from the right-circle dot for his second goal of the contest. 
     The Cats pulled their goalie twice in the final three minutes of play for an extra attacker. It did not help as Bobby Brink scored into an empty-net with 2:17 to go and Christian Dvorak added an empty-net goal, his first tally in a Flyers uniform, with 1:27 left for a 5-2 lead.

WESP-FM Six Month Anniversary

     ESPN West Palm 106.3 is celebrating their six-month anniversary of its new call letters WESP-FM later this week. The radio station under the sports talk format was known as WUUB-FM from February 2013 to April 2025. The switch to their new call letters happened on April 17.
      It has expanded their portfolio of game broadcasts this year. ESPN West Palm 106.3 WESP-FM became part of the Florida Panthers Radio Network last week. They were named the new radio flagship station of Inter Miami CF in February. ESPN West Palm 106.3 has been the West Palm Beach radio affiliate of the Miami Heat and Miami Dolphins for many years. 

Chargers Get By Dolphins

      The Miami Dolphins were edged by the Los Angeles Chargers 29-27 on Sunday at Hard Rock Stadium. The Dolphins now have a record of 1-5.

Miami Northwestern Routs Key West

     The Miami Northwestern Bulls dismantled the Key West Conchs 56-0 at Traz Powell Stadium in Miami on Saturday night. It was a District 16-3A clash between both high schools. 
     Miami Northwestern(6-1, 2-0) scored 35 points in the first quarter and later expanded it to 42-0 in the second quarter. Key West(4-3, 1-1) was unable to cut the lead in the final two quarters.

Inter Miami CF Blank Atlanta United FC

     Inter Miami FC paid back Atlanta United FC 4-0 on Saturday night at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale. The Herons were upset and eliminated in the MLS Playoffs last year by the same team at the same venue. 
     In the first half, Inter Miami CF(18-7-8) jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 39th minute on a turnover. Lionel Messi curled a left-footed shot from 17 yards away for his 25th goal of the regular season. He is now the leading goal scorer in Major League Soccer this year. 
     Atlanta United FC(5-16-12) fell behind 2-0 during the 52nd minute of play. Jordi Alba was able to score for the Herons on an assist from Messi. Alba half-volleyed a shot from 11 yards out with his left foot. 
     Inter Miami CF got two more goals in the second half for a 4-0 advantage. Luis Suarez scored in the 61st minute and Messi added his second goal of the contest during the 87th minute. 

Panthers Puncture Senators

     The Florida Panthers beat the Ottawa Senators 6-2 at Amerant Bank Arena on Saturday night. The Panthers finished up a three-game homestand.
     In the first period, Florida(3-0-0) skated to a 1-0 advantage at 6:08 as Brad Marchand collected his second goal of the season on a backhand shot. Seth Jones picked up the assist on the sequence.
     The Cats made it 2-0 when Evan Rodrigues chalked out his first tally of the campaign on a snap shot at 9:54. Aaron Ekblad was credited with an assist on the play. 
     Ottawa(1-1-0) got on the scoreboard with 2:27 remaining in the first making it 2-1. Shane Pinto scored his third goal of the year with a wrist shot.  
     The Panthers extended their lead to 3-1 on the man advantage 35 seconds into the second period. Ekblad snapped a shot for the power-play goal on assists from Marchand and Jones. 
     It became 4-1 for Florida with 1:32 left in the second on another power-play goal. Carter Verhaeghe passed the puck and Jeff Petry took a shot. Anton Lundell deflected the puck in for the score from close range for his second goal in 2025-26

Palm Beach Central Cracks Palm Beach Lakes

     The Palm Beach Central Broncos had no problems with a 45-6 victory over the Palm Beach Lakes Rams at Broncos Stadium on Friday night. It was a District 12-7A contest between both teams.
     Palm Beach Central(3-4, 1-1) scored on their opening drive and added 24 more points in the first half for a 31-0 halftime lead. Palm Beach Lakes(4-3, 1-1) reached the end zone during the third quarter and cut the deficit to 31-6. The Broncos picked up two more touchdowns in the remainder of the second half.

Cardinal Gibbons Cans Deerfield Beach

      The Cardinal Gibbons Chiefs downed the Deerfield Beach Bucks 45-7 on Friday night at Butler Stadium. Both teams have been strong Broward County high school football programs over the past two decades. 
     Deerfield Beach(1-6) and Cardinal Gibbons(5-2) both scored touchdowns in the opening quarter. The Chiefs extended their lead to 24-7 by halftime. The Bucks surrendered three touchdowns during the second half.

ESPN West Palm Florida Panthers Affiliate

     ESPN West Palm 106.3 WESP-FM is the new Palm Beach County affiliate of the Florida Panthers Radio Network for the 2025-26 season. Sports Radio 1230 The Zone WBZT-AM was the Florida Panthers radio affiliate in the West Palm Beach region since October 2022.  
     The 2025 Stanley Cup Final was aired on ESPN West Palm with the national feed from Sports USA. WBZT-AM bumped the 2025 Stanley Cup Final broadcasts from the Florida Panthers Radio Network to 
sister-station Real Radio 92.3 WZZR-FM because Miami Marlins games had a priority on Sports Radio 1230 The Zone. It is a possibility this was one of the reasons why the Panthers made the change of radio stations. 
     Good Karma Broadcasting once held the Florida Panthers radio rights in Palm Beach County. They were on ESPN Radio 760 WEFL-AM from 2003-04 to 2012-13 and then on ESPN West Palm 106.3 WUUB-FM from 2013-14 to 2014-15.

American Heritage Takes Miami Norland

     The American Heritage Patriots doubled up the Miami Norland Vikings 42-21 at Bill Lauroe Stadium in Plantation on Friday night. It was a District 15-4A battle between both teams. 
     Miami Norland(3-5, 0-2) was trailing 28-21 during the third quarter. American Heritage(4-3, 2-0) added two touchdowns in the fourth quarter to pull away.

West Boca Raton Stomps Royal Palm Beach

     The West Boca Raton Bulls went up State Road 7 and shut out the Royal Palm Beach Wildcats 31-0 on Friday night in a District 12-6A game. It was a battle between two of the best high school football teams in Palm Beach County this season. 
     West Boca Raton(6-1, 3-0) stormed out to a 19-0 advantage by the end of the first quarter. Royal Palm Beach(5-2, 1-1) gave up six more points during the second quarter and were down 25-0 at halftime.

     The Dillard Panthers traveled to Palm Beach County and dropped the Dr. Joaquin Garcia Bulldogs 38-24 on Friday night. Both teams faced each other with first place on the line in District 14-4A. 
     Dillard(8-0, 3-0) leaped out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter. Dr. Joaquin Garcia(5-3, 2-1) surrendered another touchdown in the second quarter and trailed 21-0.

Atlantic Zips By Coconut Creek

     The Atlantic Eagles went to Broward County and outscored the Coconut Creek Cougars 33-30 on Friday night. Both teams were battling for sole possession of first place in District 14-5A.
     Coconut Creek(6-2, 1-1) held a 30-26 late in the third quarter. Atlantic(7-0, 2-0) scored a go-ahead touchdown during the fourth quarter and led 33-30.

Panthers Fight Off Flyers

     The Florida Panthers edged the Philadelphia Flyers 2-1 on Thursday night at Amerant Bank Arena. It was the season-opening game for the Flyers, who will host Florida on Monday. The Panthers will conclude their three-game homestand on Saturday against the Ottawa Senators.
     After a scoreless first period, Florida(2-0-0) scooted out to a 1-0 lead on the man advantage at the 5:29 mark of the second period. Jeff Petry made a right-outlet pass from his own zone and Evan Rodrigues carried the puck through the neutral zone. He centered it from the right wing and Anton Lundell placed a wrist shot from the inner right circle past Dan Vladar for his first goal of the 2025-26 campaign. It was the first point for Petry in a Panthers uniform. 
     Philadelphia(0-1-0) tied it up 1-1 with 2:12 left in the second. Noah Cates won a faceoff in the left circle and Tyson Foerster shot the puck from the high slot which was saved by Sergei Bobrovsky. Cates followed with a forehand shot from the top of the crease.
     In the third period, the Panthers took a 2-1 lead at 2:19. A.J. Greer passed the puck above the right circle and Luke Kunin's shot went wide of the net. Brad Marchand snapped a high shot from the left wing for his 981th NHL point. 

West Palm Beach Ratings September 2025

     The ratings were released for West Palm Beach sports talk format radio stations. The time span went from the third week of August until the third week of September. 
     Sports Radio 1230 The Gambler WBZT-AM moved from a 0.2 to a 0.1 in the month. The Miami Marlins were near the end of the 2025 regular season. The University of Florida Gators football team started with a 1-2 record and began SEC play. 
     Fox Sports 640 South Florida WMEN-AM saw them go from a 0.2 to a 0.1 in the period. The Florida Atlantic University Owls football team had a 1-2 record and lost to FIU in the Shula Bowl for the first time since 2016.

Booker T. Washington Ousts Homestead

     The Booker T. Washington Tornadoes outlasted the Homestead Broncos 34-28 at Traz Powell Stadium in Miami on Thursday night. The Tornadoes came off a loss to the Vero Beach Indians.
     Homestead(1-6) hosts the American Patriots in a week. Booker T. Washington(2-6) will host the Ransom Everglades Raiders two weeks from now. 

Pahokee Pounds Forest Hill

     The Pahokee Blue Devils blanked the Forest Hill Falcons 40-0 at Bobby Riggs Stadium on Thursday night. The Blue Devils dominated throughout the contest. 
      Pahokee(6-1) returns to The Muck and hosts the Vero Beach Indians next week. Forest Hill(2-5) will visit the Santaluces Chiefs in a week. 

Boynton Beach Blasts Northeast

     The Boynton Beach Tigers picked up a 42-0 home win over the Northeast Hurricanes on Thursday night. It was a District 14-4A clash between both high schools. 
     Boynton Beach(4-3, 2-1) will visit the John I. Leonard Lancers in another district matchup next week. Northeast(1-6, 0-2) travels to the Suncoast Chargers in a week for a district game. 

Monarch Mauls Coral Springs

     The Monarch Knights demolished the Coral Springs Colts 46-0 on Thursday night. It was a District 13-6A matchup between two northern Broward County teams.
     Monarch(4-3. 2-0) will play next week the St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders, who had a game in London, England yesterday. Coral Springs(0-7, 0-2) visit the Marjory Stoneman Douglas Eagles in a week. 

Lake Worth Leaps John I. Leonard

      The Lake Worth Trojans smashed the John I. Leonard Lancers 41-0 on Thursday night at Bill Harvey Stadium. It was a District 13-7A battle between both Palm Beach County teams. 
      Lake Worth(2-5, 2-1) remains home in a week to face the Palm Beach Lakes Rams. John I. Leonard(0-7, 0-3) will be in Greenacres hosting the Boynton Beach Tigers next week.

Tyson Campbell Traded To Browns

     The Cleveland Browns have acquired defensive back Tyson Campbell from the Jacksonville Jaguars for defensive back Greg Newsome. Campbell was in his fifth season with the Jaguars.
     Campbell played high school football with the American Heritage Patriots and captured three FHSAA Class 5A state championships in 2014, 2016 and 2017. He was with the University of Georgia Bulldogs from 2018 to 2020. 

St. Thomas Aquinas Tops NFL Academy

     The St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders got by NFL Academy 41-38 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, England on Wednesday. STA improved their record to 6-1 this season.   
     It was the longest road trip the Raiders have ever made for a football contest in school history. St. Thomas Aquinas have participated in one road game per season outside of Florida since 2009. 

Brad Marchand In Canada Commercial

      Florida Panthers center Brad Marchand appeared in a Tim Horton's commercial with Sidney Crosby, Nathan MacKinnon and Marc-Andre Fleury. It involved NHL trading cards manufactured by Upper Deck. 
      Marchand was dealt to the Panthers earlier this year after spending his entire NHL career with the Boston Bruins. He contributed to Florida winning their second straight Stanley Cup title in June. 

Teddy Bridgewater In Commercial

     Teddy Bridgewater recently showed up in a Progressive Insurance commercial. He rejoined the NFL a couple of months ago signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
     Bridgewater led the Miami Northwestern Bulls to a FHSAA Class 3A state championship last year as their head coach. He once played quarterback with Miami Northwestern and the Miami Dolphins. 

Bengals Release Mike White

     The Cincinnati Bengals have released quarterback Mike White. He was on their practice squad during the 2025 regular season.
     White played high school football with the University School Sharks. He participated in six games with the Miami Dolphins during the 2023 campaign.

Miami Ratings September 2025

      The ratings were issued for Miami/Fort Lauderdale sports talk format radio stations. The time span went from the third week in August to the third week in September. 
     104.3 WQAM-FM had its first complete month and increased from a 0.6 to a 0.9. The University of Miami Hurricanes football team began their 2025 campaign with an undefeated 3-0 record. It included a season-opening home win over 2024 CFP National Championship finalist Notre Dame. 
     Fox Sports 940 WINZ-AM rose from a 0.3 to a 0.4 in the period. The Miami Dolphins opened up the 2025 regular season with a home loss to the New England Patriots. The Miami Marlins were close to the conclusion of their 2025 season with a better record than last year.
     Fox Sports 640 South Florida WMEN-AM improved from a 0.1 to a 0.2 in the period. The Florida Atlantic University Owls football team had a 1-2 record. They lost the Shula Bowl to Florida International University for the first time since 2016.
     The WINZ stream on WZTU-FM-HD2 was at a 0.3 following three months at a 0.2. The new WQAM-FM stream had its first monthly showing at a 0.2. It replaced the WQAM-AM stream which went seven consecutive months at a 0.0.

Panthers Sign Noah Gregor

     The Florida Panthers have signed forward Noah Gregor to a one-year, two-way contract. The deal is worth $775,000. 
     Gregor spent two different stints with the San Jose Sharks from 2019-20 to 2022-23 along with 2024-25. He has collected 70 points in 293 NHL games.

Florida Panthers Win Season Debut

     The defending two-time Stanley Cup champions the Florida Panthers opened up their title reign with a a 3-2 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2025-26 season opener at Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise on Tuesday night. The Panthers raised their 2025 Stanley Cup championship banner up to the rafters prior to the start of the game. 
     In the first period, Chicago(0-1-0) broke out to a 1-0 lead at the 10:03 mark. Teuvo Teravainen backhanded the puck out of the Blackhawks zone and Tyler Bertuzzi sent a lead pass from his own blue line for a breakaway. Frank Nazar slid a forehand shot from the slot area past Sergei Bobrovsky for the first tally in the NHL this season. 
     Florida(1-0-0) answered back with 8:54 left in the first to tie it up 1-1. Gustav Forsling took a one-time slap shot from the left point. Jonah Gadjovich backhanded a pass from the inner left circle and A.J. Greer lifted a wrist shot from the top of the crease by Spencer Knight. 
     The Panthers added a power-play goal with 5:52 to go and made it 2-1. Mackie Samoskevich centered the puck from the right corner and Carter Verhaeghe snapped a shot from the right side of the crease for his first goal of the season. 
      The Blackhawks evened it up 2-2 at the 1:09 mark of the second period. Nazar cleared the puck out of his zone and Bertuzzi carried it down the ice. He made a cross-ice pass from above the top right circle and Teravainen scored on a wrist shot from the inner left circle. 
     The Cats pulled ahead 3-2 at 9:40 of the third period. Evan Rodrigues dumped it in from the neutral zone into the left corner. Samoskevich was able to backhand a square pass from the low left circle. Jesper Boqvist batted the puck in from the top of the crease for the go-ahead goal.

2025-26 Florida Panthers Broadcasters

     The Florida Panthers 2025-26 regular season will begin tomorrow versus the Chicago Blackhawks. The telecasts will be on Scripps Sports for the second straight campaign. 
     All television broadcasters from last season have returned. Steve Goldstein is the play-by-play announcer, Randy Moller is the game analyst and Katie Engleson is the rinkside reporter. Jessica Blaylock works as the studio host while Ed Jovanovski is the studio analyst.
     Panthers radio broadcasts will be on the new sports station 104.3 WQAM-FM with 560 WQAM-AM as a secondary frequency. Doug Plagens is back as play-by-play announcer, Bill Lindsay as game analyst and Kevin Rogers as studio host. 

Bucks Walk By Heat

     The Milwaukee Bucks eased by the Miami Heat 103-93 in a preseason contest on Monday night at Kaseya Center. The Heat played their previous preseason game in Puerto Rico against the Orlando Magic on Saturday.

Cole Schwindt Returns To Panthers

     The Florida Panthers claimed forward Cole Schwindt from the Vegas Golden Knights. It is Schwindt's second stint with Florida. 
     Schwindt reached the NHL with the Panthers in 2021-22. He finished with no points in three games while in Florida. 

Dolphins Surprised By Panthers

      The Miami Dolphins fell to the Carolina Panthers 27-24 on Sunday at Bank of America Stadium. The Dolphins lost for the fourth time in five games this season.

Hurricanes Hold Off Seminoles

      The University of Miami Hurricanes knocked off the Florida State University Seminoles 28-22 at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee on Saturday night. It was the annual ACC game between both schools. The Canes lead the all-time series 37-33. 

Inter Miami CF Races By New England

     Inter Miami CF hustled by the New England Revolution 4-1 on Saturday night at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale. The Herons will have a seven-day break before their next game for the first time since early September. 
     Inter Miami CF(17-7-8) had a 2-0 lead at halftime. Tadeo Allende blasted a right-footed shot from eight yards out in the 32nd minute. Jorge Alba make it a two-goal lead during stoppage time as he placed a five-yard shot with his right foot. 
     New England(9-16-8) broke the shutout in the 59th minute on a tally by Dor Turgeman. The Herons answered back one minute later as Allende tapped in a shot from seven yards with his right foot. It became 4-1 for Inter Miami CF when Alba dribbled in a put in a left-footed shot from six yards away.

Miami Northwestern Tops Miami Central

     The Miami Northwestern Bulls defeated the Miami Central Rockets 30-21 at Traz Powell Stadium in Miami on Saturday. It was clash between two historic Dade County high school football programs. 
     Miami Northwestern(5-1) will host the Key West Conchs next week in a District 16-3A game. Miami Central(3-1) will host Pompano Beach in a week. 

Dillard Takes Blanche Ely In Soul Bowl

     The Dillard Panthers shut out the Blanche Ely Tigers 35-0 in the 2025 Soul Bowl at Richard L. Williams Stadium in Pompano Beach on Saturday night. The Panthers lead the all-time Soul Bowl series 30-26-1.
     Dillard(7-0) won their fourth consecutive Soul Bowl game against Blanche Ely(3-3). It was the second straight year that the Soul Bowl was not the final regular season high school football contest held in Broward County. 

Skip Schumaker Texas Rangers Manager

     The Texas Rangers have named Skip Schumaker as their new manager. He spent 2025 on the coaching staff with the club. 
     Schumaker managed the Miami Marlins for two seasons in 2023 and 2024. He won the 2023 National League Manager of the Year Award.

Panthers Wreck Lightning

     The Florida Panthers slaughtered the Tampa Bay Lightning 7-0 at Amerant Bank Arena on Saturday night. It was the third time in five days that both teams met in the preseason. 
      It was the final preseason game for the Panthers. Florida will raise their 2025 Stanley Cup championship banner prior to their 2025-26 season opener in Sunrise on Tuesday night against the Chicago Blackhawks.

St. Thomas Aquinas Slams Hollywood Hills

     The St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders blasted the Hollywood Hills Spartans 63-0 at Simmons Family Field in Fort Lauderdale on Friday night. The Raiders captured the District 15-5A title. 
     Hollywood Hills(2-4, 0-2) surrendered 49 points in the first half. St. Thomas Aquinas(5-1, 3-0) added another two touchdowns with a running clock in the second half. 

Chaminade-Madonna Handles Monarch

     The Chaminade-Madonna Lions closed out the Monarch Knights 28-7 on Friday night at Vince Zappone Field in Hollywood. The two high schools have made long postseason runs in the past two years. 
     Chaminade-Madonna(5-1) rolled out to 14-0 advantage in the first quarter. Monarch(3-3) cut it to 14-7 in the second quarter, however the Knights trailed 20-7 at halftime. 

Vero Beach Tops Booker T. Washington

     The Vero Beach Indians vanquished the Booker T. Washington Tornadoes 42-13 at the Citrus Bowl on Friday night. The Tornadoes made the 140-mile trip from Miami to Indian River County for this high school football contest. 
     Vero Beach(6-0) rocketed out to a 28-0 lead in the first half before Booker T. Washington(1-6) scored a touchdown. The Indians held a 35-7 lead at halftime. 

Atlantic Parts Treasure Coast

     The Atlantic Eagles traveled to St. Lucie County and downed the Treasure Coast Titans 30-8 on Friday night. It was a rare meeting between both teams. 
     Atlantic(6-0) started out ahead 14-0 in the first quarter. Treasure Coast(0-6) got on the scoreboard in the second quarter and trailed 14-8. 

Palm Beach Central Push By Palm Beach Gardens

      The Palm Beach Central Broncos breezed by the Palm Beach Gardens Gators 48-14 at Mullinax Ford Stadium on Friday night. It was a non-district contest in Palm Beach County.
     Palm Beach Central(2-4) and Palm Beach Gardens(1-5) were tied 7-7 after one quarter. The Broncos scored 28 unanswered points during the second quarter and third quarter for a 35-7 lead.

American Heritage Gets By Somerset Academy Canyons

     The American Heritage Stallions edged the Somerset Academy Canyons Cougars 16-13 on Friday night in Boynton Beach. American Heritage(5-1) and Somerset Academy Canyons(1-4) played in a tight low-scoring game between two local teams.

Columbus Wipes Out Miami

      The Columbus Explorers visited the Miami Stingarees and won 50-0 on Thursday night. It was a District 16-7A matchup between both high schools. 
      Columbus(2-4, 2-1) dominated by getting out to a big lead in the first half against Miami(1-4, 0-2). A running clock was used for the fourth quarter.

Cardinal Newman Drives By Goleman

     The Cardinal Newman Crusaders beat the Goleman Gators 28-7 in Dade County on Thursday night. It was a rare meeting between both teams.
     Cardinal Newman(4-2) held a 28-7 advantage at halftime over Goleman(4-2). The game was stopped during the second half due to inclement weather. 

Lightning Attack Panthers

      The Tampa Bay Lightning moved by the Florida Panthers 5-2 on Thursday night at Benchmark International Arena. The Panthers and the Lightning will finish off their preseason on Saturday in Sunrise. 

Heat Extend Nikola Jovic

     The Miami Heat have given forward Nikola Jovic a four-year contract extension. The deal is worth $62.4 million. 
     Miami selected him 27th overall in the 2023 NBA Draft. Jovic averaged a career-high 10.7 points per game last season.

Dolphins Get Cedric Wilson Jr. Again

     The Miami Dolphins have inked wide receiver Cedric Wilson Jr. It will be the second stint with the Fins. He was picked up from the New Orleans Saints practice squad. 
     Wilson was with the Dolphins for two seasons from 2023 to 2024. He had 34 pass receptions for 432 receiving yards and three touchdowns in 30 games with Miami. 

Robbie Chosen Taken By Commanders

     Former Miami Dolphins wide receiver Robbie Chosen has been signed by the Washington Commanders. He will placed on their practice squad. 
     Chosen was with Miami in 2023 and 2024. He compiled five catches for 131 receiving yards and one touchdown in 11 contests for the Dolphins.
