Braves Stomp Marlins

The Atlanta Braves bashed the Miami Marlins 9-1 at loanDepot park on Wednesday night. Their four-game series will conclude tomorrow. Braves starting pitcher Chris Sale now has a 7-3 record with a 1,89 earned run average in 10 starts this year. The Marlins have lost 11 of their last 17 games.
Miami(22-28) had a 1-0 advantage in the bottom of the first. Heriberto Hernandez hit a sacrifice fly to center field and Xavier Edwards reached home. It turned out to be the Marlins only run in the contest.
Atlanta(34-16) went up 3-1 in the top of the second with three runs. Austin Riley powered a three-run homer to center field on the first pitch for his eighth home run of the season. Ozzie Albies and Mauricio Dubon scored in front of him on the play.
The Braves extended their lead to 8-1 in the sixth inning. It was capped by a Dominic Smith three-run home run to right-center field on a 3-2 count with Olson and Albies on base. It was Smith's fifth homer in a Braves jersey.
