Blanche Ely At St. Thomas Aquinas Preview

     The Blanche Ely Tigers head down I-95 and take on the St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders on Friday night at Brian Piccolo Stadium. The Raiders have won all eight meetings versus the Tigers since 2004. Both schools are at different ends of the spectrum in District 14-7A.
     Blanche Ely(1-7, 0-1) won their season opener against Stranahan and have lost seven consecutive games since then. They have been outscored 264-64 this year and shut out three times. The Tigers finish the regular season at their longtime rival Dillard for the annual Soul Bowl.
     St. Thomas Aquinas(7-1, 1-0) looks to capture their seventh consecutive district title and 21st in the last 22 seasons. The Raiders won their first four regular season games and then fell to Miami Central. They have bounced back with three straight wins and outscored their opponents 359-66 in 2018.
     The Raiders backfield consists of running back Daniel Carter along with Nigel White and both of them will got their rushing opportunities. Wide receivers Marcus Rosemy, Xavier Restrepo, Jamal Cooney and Jahvante Royal expect to get open downfield for quarterback Curt Casteel.
