Miami(31-17) scored the first nine points of the game and moved out to a 20-6 lead midway in the first quarter. The Heat had a 30-16 advantage at the end of the first. They were able to stay in front 59-46 by halftime. New York(23-26) trailed by 28 points at 81-53 with 5:11 left in the third quarter and were behind 92-67 at the end of the frame.
Duncan Robinson ended up with a game-high 25 points for Miami. Jimmy Butler dropped in 22 points while Tyler Herro added 21 points. P. J. Tucker drained in 20 points during the victory. R.J. Barrett put in 17 points for the Knicks and Obi Toppin contributed a club-high 18 points.
