Former Miami sport talk host and Florida Marlins radio play-by-play announcer Jon "Boog" Sciambi has signed a multiyear contract extension with Marquee Sports Network as the television voice of the Chicago Cubs. Sciambi will continue as the ESPN Radio play-by-play announcer of Sunday Night Baseball this year. He has held that post since 2010.
Sciambi, a Boston College grad, joined the Florida Marlins Radio Network as a studio host in 1997. He added duties as a radio play-by-play announcer from 1999 until 2004. Sciambi was the television voice of the Atlanta Braves from 2007 to 2009. He was signed prior to coronavirus pandemic to call several games on the Boston Red Sox Radio Network during the 2020 campaign,
He was first noticed in Miami as a sports talk host at 560 WQAM-AM. He was the Florida Panthers Radio Network studio host during their best season ever in 1995-96. Sciambi did co-host a midday show with original Florida Panthers radio voice Chris Moore. He later joined Sports Talk 790 The Ticket WAXY-AM as a midday host in 2004 and 2005.
