Brandon Montour Leaves Florida Panthers

Florida Panthers defenseman Brandon Montour will not be returning to the team. He will sign a seven-year contract with the Seattle Kraken worth $50 million.
Montour was with the Panthers for the past four seasons. He was acquired from the Buffalo Sabres in April 2021. Montour contributed to the team winning two Atlantic Division titles, one Presidents' Trophy, two Eastern Conference crowns and a Stanley Cup championship.
He had his best season with Florida in 2022-23 with 16 goals and 57 assists for 73 points in 80 games. Montour was limited to 60 games this past season due to overcoming an off-season injury and compiled 33 points in 66 contests.
