Brewers Avoid Sweep To Marlins

The Miami Marlins fell to the Milwaukee Brewers 6-2 at American Family Field on Sunday. The Marlins were unable to sweep the three-game series from the Brewers. The Fish have tomorrow off and will visit the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday.
Miami(39-67) scooted out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first. Xavier Edwards connected with his first Major League Baseball home run to right field on the first pitch of the contest.
Milwaukee(60-45) answered back with two runs in the bottom of the first to go ahead 2-1. Jake Bauers smacked a two-run homer on a 0-0 count over the right-field fence with Brice Turang aboard for his eighth home run of the season.
It became 4-1 for the Brew Crew in the fourth inning. Joey Ortiz had an infield hit to the left side and Rhys Hoskins reached home. Two batters later, Turang drove in Garrett Mitchell on a single to left field.
The Brewers made it 6-1 in the bottom of the fifth. Jackson Chourio belted a solo home run to right-center field on a 2-2 pitch for his 11th homer of the year. Three batters later, Hoskins hit a sacrifice fly to center field and Bauers scored.
The Marlins got one run in the top of the seventh and were down 6-2. Edwards tripled off the right-center field wall and completed the cycle on the play. Bryan De La Cruz grounded out to first and Edwards crossed the plate.
