The Fort Lauderdale Strikers made a long trip to Canada and defeated FC Edmonton 2-0 at Clarke Field on Sunday. The Strikers have won two straight games and are undefeated in their last three games.
There was no scoring in the first half by either club. Stefano Pinho was fouled inside the l8-yard box and rewarded a penalty kick. He converted it during the 59th minute to give Fort Lauderdale(3-2-4) a l-0 lead.
FC Edmonton(4-3-3) surrendered a second goal in the 85th minute and gave the Strikers a two-goal cushion. Shawn Chin centered a pass where Stefano put in a shot from six yards out.
