Jim Kiick Passes Away

Former Miami Dolphins running back Jim Kiick passed away on Saturday at the age of 73. He was part of a powerful three-man backfield that included Larry Csonka and Mercury Morris.
Kiick, who was with the Miami Dolphins from 1968 to 1974, played 97 regular season games and compiled 3,644 rushing yards for them. He helped the franchise capture their only Super Bowl titles.
They completed the first perfect season in National Football League history with a 17-0 record during 1972 and defeated the Washington Redskins in Super Bowl VII. The Dolphins repeated again in 1973 and were victorious over the Minnesota Vikings in Super Bowl VIII.
Kiick left the team and joined the Memphis Southmen of the World Football League in 1975. His teammates Csonka and wide receiver Paul Warfield went with him to Memphis.
