Shohei Ohtani smacked his 48th home run of the 2024 season as the Los Angeles Dodgers fell to the Miami Marlins 11-9 on Tuesday night at loanDepot park. The Dodgers had their two-game winning streak snapped.

Miami(56-95) scooted in front 2-0 in the bottom of the first. Jesus Sanchez ended up with an infield hit for Xavier Edwards to score. Two batters later, Bride drove in Connor Norby with a single up the middle.
The Fish made it 4-0 in the second inning with two more runs. Sanchez singled into left-center field and Nick Fortes reached home. Norby would score on a Jake Burger force out at second.
Los Angeles(89-62) came back with four runs in the top of the third to tie it up 4-4. Shohei Ohtani crushed a two-run homer into the upper deck of right field on a 1-1 pitch with Hunter Feduccia aboard. It was Ohtani's 48th home run of the campaign. He is now two home runs and two stolen bases short of being the first player in Major League Baseball history to join the 50-50 club.
Freddie Freeman later singled into right-center field and Teoscar Hernandez singled to left field. Max Muncy knocked in both of them on a double into the left-center field gap to make it 4-4.
The Marlins reclaimed the lead 5-4 in the bottom of the frame. Otto Lopez powered a solo home run to left field on a 1-0 pitch for his sixth home run of the year.
In the top of the fourth, the Dodgers evened it up 5-5. Former Marlin Miguel Rojas lifted a solo homer to left field on a 1-0 count.
Miami put up two runs in the bottom of the fourth for a 7-5 advantage. Sanchez doubled into the right-field corner and Norby scored. Three batters later, Kyle Stowers tripled down the right-field line and Sanchez touched home.
The Dodgers cut it to 7-6 in the fifth inning. Freeman hit a sacrifice fly into left field and Mookie Betts raced home.
The Fish got two runs in the sixth inning when Burger grounded out to short and Norby crossed the plate. It became 9-6 for Miami as Sanchez later scored on a double by Kyle Stowers through the right side.
Los Angeles closed it to 9-7 in the top of the seventh. Muncy drove in Freeman with a base hit into right-center field.
The Marlins extended their lead to 11-7 in the bottom of the eighth. Burger pounded a two-run homer to center field on the first pitch for his 26th home run of the 2024 season. Cristian Pache scored in front of him on the play.
The Dodgers stayed alive with two runs during the top of the ninth. Muncy doubled down the right-field line for Betts and Hernandez to score.
