Panthers Lose To Bruins

The Florida Panthers were defeated by the Boston Bruins 4-3 in overtime at Amerant Bank Arena on Saturday. It was the Panthers only home game in a five-game stretch.
The Bruins snapped a six-game winless streak. Both clubs have faced each other in the Stanley Cup Playoffs during the last two years where the Cats prevailed.
Boston(21-19-5) got up 1-0 on the power play at the 6:02 mark of the first period. Morgan Geekie backhanded a shot from the left side of the crease past Sergei Bobrovsky for his 10th goal of the campaign.
Florida((25-15-3) tied it up 1-1 with 4:29 remaining in the first. Anton Lundell backhanded a pass from the left wing. Uvis Balinskis blasted a slap shot from the left point which was saved by Jeremy Swayman. Evan Rodrigues put in the rebound with a forehand shot from the left of the crease for his eighth tally of the year. Itt was the first goal for Rodrigues in the past 16 games.
The B's pulled ahead 2-1 with 3:49 left in the second period. David Patrnak redirected a shot from close range for his 18th goal of the season.
In the third period, the Cats evened it up 2-2 just 43 seconds into the frame. Sam Reinhart collected his 24th goal in 2024-25 as he tapped the puck into the cage from the blue paint.
The Bruins answered just over one minute at 2:06. Oliver Wahlstrom helped his new club with his third this year on a wrist shot from the left goal line.
The Panthers pulled their goalie with two minutes to go in the period. They succeeded with 1.8 seconds left in the third when Reinhart chipped a high shot from the crease area for his second tally of the game and 25th goal this season.
Boston would gain revenge on a 4-on-3 power play with 1.2 seconds remaining in overtime. Pastrnak would snap a shot from the top right circle that went off Reinhart's stick for his second goal of the contest and 19th goal of the campaign.
