Finland Dominates Italy

     Team Finland pounded Team Italy 11-0 in men's hockey play at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan, Italy on Saturday. Team Finland finished second in Group A with a 2-1-0 record. Florida Panthers center Anton Lundell did not play for Team Finland today due to an illness. 
     Florida Panthers defenseman Niko Mikkola picked up the primary assist on a goal by Seattle Kraken forward Kaapo Kakko at 10:18 of the opening frame to make it 3-0. Mikkola took a slap shot from the left point and it was redirected in by Colorado Avalanche forward Joel Kiviranta in the slot area at the 4:04 mark of the second period for a 4-0 lead. 
     Florida Panthers left wing Eetu Luostarinen became a part the rout during the second. He got the primary assist with a cross-ice pass from the left wing on Kaako's tally from the right circle at 7:39 and the secondary assist on a goal by Dallas Stars center Mikael Granlund from the left side of the crease with 2:24 left in the period to lead 6-0.
