Marlins Blank Braves On Jose Fernandez 10th Anniversary

The Miami Marlins shut out the Atlanta Braves 3-0 at loanDepot park on Friday night. The Marlins held a pregame ceremony for pitcher Jose Fernandez on the 10th anniversary of his tragic death being killed in a boat accident.
Marlins starting pitcher Eury Perez hurled a complete-game, one-hit shutout. It was the first complete game for Perez in his MLB career and the seventh one-hit shutout in team history.
The Marlins began a three-game homestand to conclude their 2026 season. The Braves will finish first in the National League East Division and will host a National League Wild-Card Series next week.
Miami(79-81) broke the scoreless tie in the bottom of the seventh. Joe Mack crushed a solo home run to right field on the first pitch for his 14th homer in his rookie year.
Atlanta(93-67) gave up two more runs during the eighth inning and the Fish led 3-0. Heriberto Hernandez singled into shallow center field and Jakob Marsee scored. Two batters later, Griffin Conine belted a solo homer to left-center field on a 2-2 count for his 18th home run of the season.
