The Treasure Coast Titans host the Apopka Blue Darters at South County Regional Stadium on Friday night in a FHSAA Class 8A state semifinal. The winner will face either Columbus or Venice for the state championship in two weeks at DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale.
Apopka(12-1) have outscored their opponents 400-95 and shut out five teams this year. The Blue Darters have won seven straight contests. They walloped Creekside 42-0 in the regional quarterfinal, pounded Bartram Trail 34-3 in the regional semifinal and edged the defeating Class 8A state champion Seminole 28-27 in overtime during the regional final.
Blue Darters quarterback Andrew McClain can throw the ball to wide receivers Quincy Frazier and Keandre Brown. Running backs Keyondray Jones and Ke'Shawn Jones will get rushing opportunities.
Treasure Coast(10-1) have won their last seven games and outscored their opponents 465-179 this season. The Titans knocked off Palm Beach Gardens 47-22 in a regional quarterfinal, blasted Boone 51-19 in a regional semifinal and blanked Palm Beach Central 24-0 in a regional final.
The Titans will rush the ball on the majority of their plays. Running backs Eden James, Cephus Roberts Jr., Jamison Davis, quarterback Maurico Porcha and wide receiver Jadyn Aseredo-Matthews can generate yardage from the backfield.
