Pirates Season Sweep Marlins

The Pittsburgh Pirates swept the Miami Marlins 3-1 at PNC Park on Wednesday. The Marlins lost every contest in the three-game series and were winless against the Pirates on seven occasions this season. It was the first time that the Bucs had swept the Marlins in a season series.
In the first inning, the Pirates had a 2-0 lead. Oneil Cruz walked with the bases loaded and Bryan Reynolds crossed the plate. Connor Joe followed with a sacrifice fly to center field and Joey Bart scored.
Pittsburgh(69-76) increased their lead to 3-0 in the bottom of the second. Jared Triolo socked a solo home run to left field on a 2-0 pitch for his eighth homer of the year.
Miami(54-92) was able to break the shutout with two outs in the top of the ninth. Cristian Pache knocked in Otto Lopez with a base hit up the middle.
