Phillies Down Marlins

The Philadelphia Phillies dropped the Miami Marlins 5-2 at loanDepot park on Thursday night. It was the beginning of a four-game series between both teams. The Phillies have won five consecutive games.
Philadelphia(84-56) leaped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first. Bryson Stott sliced a single into left field for Park Vista High School grad Trea Turner to score.
The Phillies added four more runs during the top of the sixth for a five-run margin. Stott powered a solo home run to right field on a 2-1 pitch for 11th homer of the season. Three batters later, Kody Clemens doubled into the left-field corner which scored J.T. Realmuto and Brandon Marsh. Clemens would later cross the plate on a wild pitch.
Miami(52-88) broke the shutout in the bottom of the seventh. Jesus Sanchez drove in Griffin Conine with a base hit into center field.
The Marlins made it 5-2 in the eighth inning. Jake Burger scored on a throwing error during an Otto Lopez at-bat.
