Nationals Nip Marlins

The Washington Nationals squeezed by the Miami Marlins 4-3 at Nationals Park on Sunday. The Marlins concluded a four-game series with the Nationals along with a seven-game road swing. The Fish will host the Los Angeles Dodgers in Miami on Tuesday.
Miami(55-95) had a 1-0 advantage in the top of the third. Jake Burger hit a sacrifice fly to center field and Jhonny Pereda scored.
Washington(68-81) picked up two runs to take the lead 2-1. Luis Garcia Jr. knocked in Andres Chaparro on a base hit through the right side. Two batters later, Keibert Ruiz singled to right field and Garcia crossed the plate.
In the fifth inning, the Nationals increased it to 3-1. James Wood smacked a solo homer on a 1-0 pitch to center field for his sixth home run in his rookie campaign.
The Marlins cut it to 3-2 in the top of the seventh. Jonah Bride cracked a solo home run to left field on a 1-1 count for his seventh homer of the season.
The Nats regained a two-run margin during the bottom of the eighth. Wood collected his second home run of the game and eighth home run of the year on a 1-1 pitch to left-center field.
The Fish could get only one run in the ninth inning and fell short 4-3. David Hensley grounded out to short for Bride to score.
