Longtime mixed martial arts fighter Kimbo Slice passed away on Monday at the age of 42. It was a shocking circumstance since he was scheduled to fight on a Bellator pay-per-view event in London on July 16.
Slice, a South Florida resident, had been involved in street fighting and worked with many different organizations during his MMA career. He signed with Elite XC in the late 2000s and appeared on several prime-time cards nationally televised on CBS. He participated for UFC in 2009 and later moved on to work for Bellator.
