The Miami Marlins held off the Tampa Bay Rays 6-5 at Tropicana Field on Friday night. It was the first contest for both clubs since the All-Star Game.
Miami(42-57) compiled five runs in the top of the seventh to move ahead 6-1. Tampa Bay(49-48) made a charge in the ninth inning as they got four runs and fell short.
