Matthew DeFranks recently left his position as the Florida Panthers beat writer for the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. He is joining the Dallas Morning News as their new Dallas Stars beat reporter in August.
DeFranks joined the South Florida Sun-Sentinel in 2016 to cover Florida Atlantic University athletics. He was promoted to the Florida Panthers post in September 2017 and became the sixth person to hold that position at that newspaper.
