The Miami Marlins fell to the Philadelphia Phillies 5-1 on Friday night at Citizens Bank Park. The Fish have won three of their last 11 games.
The Phillies scored first during the bottom of the third. Rhys Hoskins knocked in Vince Velasquez on a base hit into center field. Cesar Hernandez would score on a wild pitch with Odubel Herrera at-bat in the seventh inning.
Miami(46-65) compiled their only tally in the top of the eighth. Brian Anderson drove in Magneuris Sierra with a single to center.
Philadelphia(61-48) added some runs in the bottom of the frame. Jorge Alfaro singled to center field for Maikel Franco to score. Two batters later, pinch-hitter Roman Quinn hit a double to the base of the left-center fence which caused Nick Williams and Alfaro to cross the plate.
