Cubs Split Doubleheader With Marlins

The Chicago Cubs topped the Miami Marlins with a 5-3 victory on Saturday night at Wrigley Field. It was the second contest of a doubleheader between both teams. Marlins starting pitcher Roddery Munoz made his Major League Baseball debut.
In the first inning, Chicago(13-8) took a 1-0 lead. Cody Bellinger blasted a solo home run to right-center field for his fourth homer of the season.
Miami(5-17) leaped over the Cubbies during the fourth inning to go in front 2-1. Tim Anderson doubled into left field and Josh Bell crossed the plate. Jazz Chisholm Jr. came up next and drove Anderson with a base hit through the right side.
The Marlins made it a two-run gap in the top of the sixth. Bell ripped a solo home run to left-center field on a 2-1 count for his third homer of the season.
The Cubs piled on four runs in the bottom of the sixth and took a 5-3 lead. Alexander Canario powered a solo homer to left field on the first pitch. It was his first home run this year and his second career homer. Four batters later, Michael Busch drove in Nico Hoerner and Christopher Morel on a base hit to left field. Garrett Cooper followed with a single up the middle and Busch reached home.
