Marlins Outlast Cubs

The Miami Marlins split a four-game series as they dropped the Chicago Cubs 6-3 at Wrigley Field on Sunday. The Fish will travel to Atlanta and face the Braves to complete the seven-game road trip.
Miami(6-17) moved up to a 1-0 lead in the top of the second. Jesus Sanchez pounded a solo home run to center field for his first homer of the year.
Chicago(13-9) tied it 1-1 in the bottom of the second. Nico Hoerner singled through the left side to score Mike Tauchman.
The Marlins added three more runs in the top of the fourth for a 4-1 lead. Sanchez knocked in Jazz Chisholm Jr. on a single to right field. Tim Anderson got a base hit into right which brought in Josh Bell. Two batters later, Emmanuel Rivera grounded into a force out and for Sanchez to score.
The Cubs responded with two runs in the bottom of the fourth and trailed 4-3. Hoerner doubled to deep right field and Tauchman scored. Cody Bellinger followed with a single to left field and Alexander Canario crossed the plate.
In the fifth inning, the Fish expanded their lead to 5-3. Chisholm drove in Luis Arraez with a base hit into shallow left field.
It became a three-run margin for Miami again in the top of the seventh. Bell grounded out to second and Nick Fortes reached home.
