Inter Miami CF Mow Down Nashville SC

Inter Miami CF returned home and knocked off Nashville SC 3-1 at Chase Stadium on Saturday night. Both teams have created a rivalry over the past two years. Inter Miami CF won the Leagues Cup last year over Nashville SC and defeated them in the CONCACAF Champions Cup Round of 16 last month.
In the first half, Nashville SC(1-3-4) rapidly got ahead 1-0 in the second minute of play on an own goal. Franco Negri accidentally put the ball into his own net.
It was quickly answered by Inter Miami CF(5-2-3) in the 11th minute to tie it 1-1. Lionel Messi was able to score with a left-footed shot from four yards away on an assist by Luis Suarez.
The Herons took a 2-1 advantage during the 39th minute. Sergio Busquets got the tally with a header from five yards out on a corner-kick feed by Messi.
Inter Miami CF kept the momentum during the second half and extended their lead to 3-1. Messi placed in his second goal of the contest on a penalty kick into the low right corner of the cage in the 81st minute for league-leading seventh Major League Soccer goal this season.
