Hulk Hogan Dead

Hulk Hogan passed away today in Clearwater, Florida at the age of 71. He was the most famous professional wrestler and an American pop-culture icon during the 1980s and the 1990s.
Hogan made his pro wrestling debut with Championship Wrestling from Florida one day before his 24th birthday on August 10, 1977 in Fort Myers. He made only one other CWF appearance in South Florida at the National Guard Armory in Fort Lauderdale on October 28, 1977.
He would not wrestle again in the South Florida region for 12 years. Hogan was not sent here by the World Wrestling Federation during the mid-1980s because there was no large-capacity South Florida venue compared to other arenas in the United States.
The biggest WWF moment for Hogan in South Florida was when he won the 1991 Royal Rumble at Miami Arena in Miami. It led to him recapturing the WWF Championship several months later at Wrestlemania 7 in Los Angeles over Sgt. Slaughter
Hogan joined World Championship Wrestling in June 1994 and immediately became WCW Champion. His biggest WCW match in South Florida was at the Knight Center in September 1995. It was the first singles match ever between him and Lex Luger. It was also the second broadcast of the new weekly television show WCW Monday Nitro. The match ended up being a no-contest due to outside interference by the Dungeon of Doom.
