Marlins Stop Padres

The Miami Marlins topped the San Diego Padres 4-3 at loanDepot park on Tuesday night. The Marlins have a 3-2 record since the MLB All-Star Game break.
Miami(47-53) powered in two runs in the bottom of the first for a 2-0 advantage. Kyle Stowers finished the rally with a double into the right-center field gap and Augustin Ramirez crossed the plate.
San Diego(55-46) cut it to 2-1 in the top of the third. Former Marlins player Luis Arraez singled into right field to score Martin Maldonado.
Javier Sanoja capped the eighth inning for the Fish to give them a 4-1 lead. He got an RBI-triple to left-center field which scored Heriberto Hernandez.
The Padres almost pulled off a comeback in the top of the ninth. Jackson Merrill knocked in Gavin Sheets and Xander Bogaerts with a double off the right-field wall.
