Inter Miami CF Dispose Nashville SC

Inter Miami CF held off Nashville SC 2-1 at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale. It was the first time the Herons played a home contest since May 31. They are in a five-game stretch where this was their only home game.
Lionel Messi gave Inter Miami CF(11-3-5) a 1-0 lead in the 17th minute. He fired a 23-yard shot on a direct kick with his left leg into the low left corner of the cage.
In the second half, Nashville SC(12-5-5) tied it up 1-1. They made a crossing pass from the right side and Hany Mukhtar scored on a header from 10 yards in the 49th minute.
Messi collected his second goal of the contest during the 62nd minute and the Herons reclaimed the lead 2-1. He intercepted an outlet pass by the Nashville goalkeeper at the edge of the penalty area. Messi dribbled to the middle of the field and placed in a left-footed shot from 12 yards away. It was the second straight game that Messi had two goals. He has scored all four Inter Miami CF goals in the past two games.
