Marlins Elevate Yuli Gurriel

     First baseman Yuli Gurriel has made the Miami Marlins opening day roster. The Marlins will open up their 2023 Major League Baseball campaign on Thursday when they host the New York Mets. Gurriel signed a minor league contract with the team earlier this month. 

     Gurriel has spent his entire seven-year MLB career with the Houston Astros. He contributed to the Astros two World Series titles in 2017 and 2022. Gurriel captured the American League batting title in 2021.
