Former Miami Dolphins offensive lineman Mike Pouncey has retired from the National Football League. He signed a one-day contract with the Miami Dolphins organization Thursday.
Pouncey was selected by the Miami Dolphins 15th overall in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft. He played his first seven seasons with the Dolphins from 2011 to 2017 and finished his playing career with the Los Angeles Chargers in 2018 and 2019. Pouncey played in 93 games with the Fins.
Pouncey and his brother Maukice Pouncey helped the Lakeland Dreadnaughts win three FHSAA Class 5A state championships over the St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders in 2004, 2005 and 2006. Both Pouncey brothers went to the University of Florida and captured a national championship for the Gators in 2008.
