Former Miami Marlins relief pitcher Sergio Romo retired from Major League Baseball after signing a one-game contract with the San Francisco Giants on Monday. He maded a relief appearance for the Giants in an exhibition game at Oracle Park against the Oakland A's last night.
Romo was with San Francisco Giants in his first nine seasons in the majors from 2008 until 2016. He helped the Giants capture three World Series championships, which are their only titles since their relocation to San Francisco, in 2010, 2012 and 2014. Romo pitched 38 games for the Miami Marlins during the 2019 season.
