McElroy Wins Honda Classic
Rory McElroy captured the 2012 Honda Classic at PGA National Golf Club in West Palm Beach last Sunday. He held a comfortable lead after three rounds going into the final round on Sunday. Tiger Woods, a Jupiter resident, made his first appearance playing in the event for the first time in his career. He usually never scheduled to play in this tournament due to what time of the year it was and also because he was based in Orlando. Woods shot an impressive 62 in the final round of play and finished two strokes behind the leader. McElroy won the local event and catapulted himself to the number one ranking in the world. The PGA Tour will play the World Golf Championships-Cadillac Championship on the Blue Monster course in Doral this week.
