Vandermeer Exits KILT-AM
Former University of Miami Hurricanes play-by-play announcer Marc Vandermeer will leave the morning show on KILT-AM in Houston this spring. He has co-host mornings with John Lopez since 2010. In addition, he was once a co-host for the midday show at that station. Vandermeer will be promoted to Director of Radio Broadcasting with the Houston Texans. He continues as the radio play-by-play announcer for the team. Vandermeer joined the Texans in 2002 when they became an NFL expansion team. Prior to his move to Texas, he announced University of Miami radio sporting events on radio at 560 WQAM-AM. Vandermeer was the radio play-by-play announcer when the Miami Hurricanes when they won the 2001 BCS National Championship at the Rose Bowl.
