Mets Shut Out Marlins

Dillon Gee pitched eight scoreless innings and surrendered three hits as the New York Mets blanked the Miami Marlins 4-0 on Sunday at Citi Field. Gee, who struck out six Marlins(11-14), improved his record to 2-1 this season. The Fish finished the month of April with a record of 2-10 on the road.
New York(14-11) waited until the second inning to take the lead against Tom Koehler. Daniel Murphy led off with a walk and advanced to second when Chris Young was hit by a pitch. Lucas Duda then knocked in Murphy on a ground-rule double to left field and made it 1-0.
Koehler, whose record dropped to 2-2, gave up three more runs during the fifth inning. Curtis Granderson walked and scored on a double by David Wright into left field. Murphy grounded out to first which moved Wright to third. Young followed with a two-run homer to left field on the 11th pitch of the at-bat to give the Mets a 4-0 cushion.
