Jon Linder will end his short run at 640 Sports WMEN-AM as interim afternoon host on Friday. He was brought in on August 25 when he replaced Orlando Alzugaray who returned to Sports Radio 560 WQAM-AM. 640 Sports is expected to make an announcement who will become the new afternoon host at the station.
Linder had a previous stint with the station for three weeks earlier this year as the early afternoon host from January 20 until February 7. He lost that position when James Crystal Enterprises had to reorganize their organization due to chapter 11 bankruptcy. He joined the station as a fill-in host in December 2013.
He was a sports reporter and fill-in host at WQAM from 2007 to early 2013. Linder was elevated to football studio host of the University of Miami Hurricanes Radio Network from 2010 to 2012. He also hosted a late night football show from August until late December 2011. Prior to arriving in Miami, he had a long stint during the 2000s as an afternoon host and later a Sunday morning host at 770 WWCN-AM in Fort Myers.
