Former Sun-Sentinel sports writer Rachel Nichols had her Friday night show Unguarded With Rachel Nichols dropped by CNN. She started that program in September 2013. She will continue as a sports reporter along with being an NBA and NCAA basketball sideline reporter for Turner Sports broadcasts.
Nichols first got noticed locally as Rachel Alexander and worked as a writer for the Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel sports section from 1995 to 1996. She would leave the newspaper for a sports writer role at the Washington Post where she worked until 2004. Nichols later joined ESPN as a sports reporter for over eight years. She moved to Turner Sports and CNN in January 2013.
