Entercom Communications Corporation has acquired 104.3 The Ticket WAXY-FM and 790 The Ticket WAXY-AM from Lincoln Financial Media. They also picked up WMXJ-FM and WLYF-FM in Miami along with 11 other radio stations in Atlanta, Denver and San Diego. The sale is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2015 following the approval by the Federal Communications Commission.
Lincoln Financial Media has owned all four South Florida stations since April 2006 when they merged as Lincoln Financial Group with Jefferson-Pilot Corporation. 104.3 The Ticket has been on top of the ratings for sports format radio stations in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale region for the last 15 months. 790 The Ticket flipped their format from brokered programming to sports in August 2004. WLYF-FM has appeared near the top of the monthly ratings in the market for over a decade while WMXJ-FM showed up in the top seven over the past four months.
