The monthly battle between sports format radio stations for ratings was topped by 104.3 The Ticket WAXY-FM for the 18th consecutive month in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale region. A big surprise was that both of their two main competitors in the market saw a decrease in their numbers.
104.3 The Ticket stayed flat again at a 1.6 for February. Their lineup continued to be stable considering that the Miami Heat has been in a fight for a playoff spot.
Sports Radio 560 WQAM-AM was again in the second-place spot as they went down from a 1.1 to a 0.9 for the month. They had both the University of Miami basketball team and the Florida Panthers attempt to make strides for postseason appearances this year.
Miami Sports 940 WINZ-AM showed a drop in their performance as they fell from a 0.3 to a 0.2 in February. As the calendar moved away from pro football season and no Miami Dolphins games, their numbers were expected to take some hit.
