The Miami Marlins played in one of the longest combined scoreless games in franchise history as they edged the Baltimore Orioles 1-0 in 13 innings at Marlins Park on Saturday night. It was the first time in 267 games at their new stadium that Fish were in a scoreless nine-inning game.
Marlins manager Dan Jennings got his first win as a major league skipper with the victory. Miami(17-27) won the contest after they lost their previous eight games on this homestand.
After Orioles relief pitcher Brian Matusz was thrown out of the game for using a foreign substance on his right arm during the 11th inning, Baltimore(19-21) surrendered the winning run in the bottom of the 13th. Martin Prado knocked in Adeiny Hechavarria with a two-out single into right-center against T.J. McFarland.
