The Fort Lauderdale Strikers returned home to Lockhart Stadium on Saturday night and were blanked by the Carolina RailHawks 1-0. Fort Lauderdale(2-4-2) was held scoreless for the third straight game. The Strikers lost last week at Tampa Bay 1-0 and played to a 0-0 home tie three weeks ago against Atlanta. It was also the first win by Carolina(2-2-4) ever in Fort Lauderdale.
Tiyi Shipalane scored the long goal for the RailHawks during the 44th minute as his shot went by former Carolina goalkeeper Akira Fitzgerald. Former Strikers midfielder Mark Anderson made his return to Fort Lauderdale after playing with the Strikers from 2012 to 2014 where he compiled 19 goals in 65 games.
