The Florida Panthers began a four-game road trip and fell to the Boston Bruins 3-1 at TD Garden on Saturday. The Panthers have lost three of their last four games.
Boston scored the only goal in the first period. The Panthers attempted to clear the puck out of their zone. Torey Krug stopped it at the left point and floated a high slapshot on goal. Ryan Spooner redirected the puck from inner left circle by Roberto Luongo for a 1-0 lead.
In the second period, the B's got a power-play goal eight minute in on some good passing. David Krejci stood at the top of the zone and sent the puck into the slot area and Patrice Bergeron directed it to the right circle. Spooner then snapped a shot into the Florida cage for his second goal of the contest.
Reilly Smith burned his former team around the six-minute mark in the third period as he blasted a slapshot from the right point past Tuukka Rask. Aaron Ekblad fed him the puck from the left point on the play. Brad Marchand scored into an empty net from the red line for the Bruins in the final minute of the game.
