The Flanagan Falcons captured their first FHSAA Class 8A state championship in their first appearance in a title game as they defeated Osceola Kowboys 26-7 on Saturday night at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando. Flanagan(12-2) did make the state semifinal last year and fell to Columbus.
Osceola(13-2) played in their second consecutive state championship game. They lost to the St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders in the Class 7A title game last year. They had one state championship prior to this game.
