Former Miami radio sportscaster David Schultz has joined ESPN 1420 KPEL-AM in Lafayette, Louisiana. He will host a Sunday morning show beginning on May 19. He launched the Shut Up Dave Podcast in late April.
Schultz worked at Sports Radio 560 WQAM-AM from 2009 to 2011. He was their Florida Marlins and Florida Panthers reporter along with being a sports anchor and fill-in host.
After working at Ocean Reef Club in Key West as a membership manager from 2011 to 2013, he returned to radio at 103.7 The Game KLWB-AM in Lafayette in September 2013 as the morning host and program director. He program was later simulcast on KXKW-TV. Schultz left that radio station in March 2019.
Schultz, a SUNY-Oswego grad, was a minor league baseball play-by-play announcer prior to his arrival in Miami. He worked for the Syracuse Chiefs, Harrisburg Senators, Somerset Patriots, Jacksonville Suns and Peoria Chiefs.
