The Seminole Ridge Hawks dominated the Archbishop McCarthy Maverciks 26-0 on Friday night in a two-quarter game. It was part of the Cardinal Newman High School spring football jamboree in West Palm Beach.
Seminole Ridge got the ball first and reached the end zone with 6:47 to go in the first quarter. Running back Deion McMinnis raced around the right end from three yards out for a 6-0 lead.
The Hawks scored six seconds into the second quarter and led by 12 points. They used the same full-house backfield and McMinnis went through the right tackle on a six-yard touchdown run.
It became a 19-point gap for Seminole Ridge with 7:16 remaining. McMinnis scored his third touchdown of the contest as he rushed up the middle untouched from one yard away.
The Archbishop McCarthy quarterback fumbled the ball when he was sacked at his own three-yard line. Hawks defensive end Jordan Lawrence pounced on the ball in the end zone for a touchdown with 5:39 left.
