Heat Burn Rockets

The Miami Heat took care of the Houston Rockets 120-113 at Kaseya Center on Monday night. The Heat began a four-game homestand. It was their first home game of the 2024 calendar year for Miami following a five-game road trip.
The Heat have not had a home game since Christmas Day versus the Philadelphia 76ers. The Rockets are celebrating the 30th anniversary of their first NBA title in franchise history back in 1993-94.
It was close in the first quarter until Miami(21-15) went on a 16-11 spurt for a 34-27 lead at the end of the frame. Houston(18-17) finished off the second quarter with eight straight points and were tied with the Heat 59-59 at halftime.
The Heat roared out to a 91-82 advantage by the end of the third quarter. Miami maintained at least a six-point margin for the entire fourth quarter.
Tyler Herro dropped in 28 points for the Heat. Bam Adebayo contributed a double-double of 22 points and 12 rebounds. Kevin Love was able to score 15 points. Duncan Robinson and Jaime Jacquez Jr. both placed in 14 points each.
Fred VanVleet led the Rockets with a game-high 32 points along with seven assists. Alperin Sengun compiled 22 points and 11 rebounds for a double-double.
