Tyler Heineman Designated For Assignment

     The New York Mets have designated catcher Tyler Heineman for assignment after placing pitcher Adam Ottavino on their 40-man roster. There is a possibility that Heineman might be picked up on waivers by another Major League Baseball club. 

     Heineman was purchased by the Miami Marlins from the Houston Astros on June 3, 2019. He played the remainder of the 2019 campaign with the Fish and their minor league system. Heineman made his debut in the majors with Miami and had a .273 batting average in five games.
