Miami Ratings August 2020

The Miami/Fort Lauderdale ratings were released for sports talk format radio stations in the market. The ratings period went from the middle of July to the middle of August. All professional sports leagues were able to resume since the coronavirus pandemic stopped athletic events in March.
560 The Joe WQAM-AM moved from a 0.6 to a 0.7 in the period. Florida Panthers broadcasts returned to the station as they played in a Stanley Cup Qualifier Series against the New York Islanders for their first postseason appearance since 2016. It would be the final full period where the Dan LeBatard Show with Stugotz will go three hours.
Sports Talk 790 The Ticket WAXY-AM remained at a 0.2 in the month which is almost a station low for them in the last 16 years. It was a general surprise that there was no upswing when the Miami Heat came back on the radio airwaves with the last eight games of the regular season and clinched an Eastern Conference playoff spot.
Miami Sports 940 WINZ-AM continued for the second straight month with a 0.1 for their worst ratings since September 2016. The start of the 2020 Major League Baseball regular season occurred. The Miami Marlins had their campaign stopped after three games for one week due to the positive tests of the coronavirus to team personnel.
